Phil,
Can you explain as to what the Hunter was doing it sounds interesting, i was unable to make the show this year, i think i would of left disappointed as the A26 would of been the highlight.
The Hunter just did quite high level ( by airshow standards) fly-by’s, but even then he turned out to sea at the southern end of the flightline, it seemed as he’d been told to hold off the display area, then finally he made one high spead run strafing the beach, and he was gone.
I left slightly dissapointed as the whole of the show seem disjointed, although to see a Chinook being put through it’s paces again was very good, and also the Chinook team getting its Range Rover stuck in the sand was a highlight.:diablo:
I wouldn’t say it ran smoothly, presumably the gaps were caused by the missing items, but what was the Hunter doing.
PS i wasn’t near the tannoy either.
nice photo’s Paul, I decided not to make the trek across the Peninnes as the forecast was dire for both days, & now i’m sat here at home and it’s been fine all day so far. 😡
Hi Si,
Stunning photo’s again.
😀
BBMF on BBC2 This Evening 10th Aug 07 (merged)
Guy’s a programme tonight (10th Aug BBC2 North West (and others)) on the Battle of Britain flight.
Documentary following a unique group of pilots who are keeping the last Spitfires and Hurricanes in the air, nearly 70 years after the RAF won the Battle of Britain. Cameras follow the The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, based at Coningsby, in Lincolnshire, for a whole flying season, including an historic Royal flypast. This special programme, marking the 50th anniversary of the unit, takes to the skies on the UK’s last flying Lancaster bomber and meets the modern jet pilots learning to master vintage aircraft kept in the air as living memorial to the wartime aircrew who never returned.
😀
Yes as soon as we left the runway I thought oooh errr i’m not gonna enjoy this, but feeling passed after a minute or so, thanks to the skill of our pilot (is she married?):D .
The most uncomfortable thing was being sat in in that perspex greenhouse of a canopy, nothing to do with Classic flight but that big yellow ball in the sky! oh yes and then forgetting to duck when the canopy was was opened at the end:confused: .
Sorry, i got confused about the date!
Thanks for the comments
Phil
