Have yet to see the amazing projects he created but look forward to doing so in the future. Blue Skies.
The film or the emojis? 😉
OH Boscome Down museum have a MK2 front fuse!
Interesting Question.
At the DH museum there are 3 noses (1 MK1, a Mk2 and a MK4) and a Fuselage (MK1)
The Raf museum has a modified MK1 at cosford
The Science museum have a MK4 in store
Duxford and East Fortune have MK4s on display
Bruntingthrope have a Running MK 4
Brain cant remember any others at the moment but im sure someone will correct me.
There is indeed a MK1 at the DH museum i spent a happy summer spraying anti corrosion wax over the inside in places such as the luggage bay and equipment bay.
My avatar is of her before the current restoration got really going. If you haven’t visited please do in the new year to see the progress on the whole museum (but especially the Comet 🙂 )
If this layout/colour scheme was an attempt to get the younger (under 30s) into the site that it isn’t appealing even to us.
The Black and yellow scheme is attractive on a car or sports teams uniform (Brachnell Bees Ice Hockey club springs to mind). For a forum that people would spend a long time reading the colours jar. I dont know what the other forums such as Mil aviation were averaging number wise but i bet its down aswell.
I don’t know I’m afraid but various Comet bits (Including a fuselage) escaped being scrapped at Farnbourgh so it is possible.
I would love to know if it has reappeared somewhere else
Being behind the Shuttlewoth Collection Spit and Hurri when they started up and ran up down by the control tower. The amount of picnics and hats that went flying was a sight to see.
I need to watch this show as within the space of 10 mins I have seen mention of it on two different forums for two completely different hobbies. 1 for a later mark of Spitifre and one for theatrical lighting that is late 40s not early 40s.
🙂
Loving the responses so far. The bunker at Uxbridge was superb when we went before the additions so i must make a return visit.
When i used to show people round the DH museum it was always great fun asking people why the Vixens cockpit was offset. If they didn’t know about it their faces were always shocked to find the second seat in the coal hole.
Some memories of Strathallen’s final days.
Tigermoth G-ALWS and the Provost WW453 were purchased by Dave Davidson and Jim McTaggart from Scone airfield…..
Mentioned earlier in the thread 🙂
I shall have to come to that 🙂 Really Enjoyed my last trip to you guys.
I thought he had to pull out of the Shoreham talk?
HHA used to have a Bucc that was “airworthy” but wouldn’t be flown until they had a contract for it. No idea what’s happened to it now.
