Do send a message into the DH museum as although closed for the winter there is lots going on. They are a very friendly bunch and have WW2 and interwar biplanes.
I shall be going 🙂 whos up for a forum meet?
Is the final display comment regarding the tin triangle or the Storch? If the latter, do you mean final display for the season or is there more to it?
Really hope its just the final of the season as Peters and Jeans routines have been one of my favourites on the circuit over the last few seasons.
As an ex student of City of Bristols aero dept i’m glad she’s getting some love. Many first mistakes were made on that airframe.
Superb show on sat guys 🙂 Shame no Lysander as in the growing gloom she would have looked the part with the lights on. The last two years I feel they have stepped up their aircraft selection and is paying off.
Didnt know there was a branch so near 🙂 Must come down and see
Flexible fencing would be an idea, but the visibility wouldn’t have helped in the Triplane. The way the wings are set they turn into a set of blinds so seeing down ahead becomes very hard. The wing covering means no matter how visible it is, you just cant see it.
First one up close would have to be Hendon. First live one would be Old Wardens AR501. We sat behind it for its start up down by the control tower and our program disappeared into the carpark. Happy times 🙂
Was really impressed by the Museum at Friedrichshafen when went in 07 or 08 🙂 Surprised they had a smoking room aboard though
I swear she flew more recently on a test flight but damaged the undercarriage on landing :S
Love the scheme 😀 Can never have enough Hurris flying
Any Photos of when it was opened? Be interesting to see what has changed.
Very enjoyable read 🙂 Love the flea and hope the project goes well.
