comet flight deck
Pm me and ill email some through as i dont no how to get them up on here yet
Oops! 🙂
The Mosquito museums example doesnt have a flight deck atm but we are collecting parts to rebuild it. on the indoors subject, we cant tell at this time.
‘NX is the only unmodified example of the mark one fusalage, but the one is Cosford used to be a Mk 1 with Air France. also there is a cockpit section with the Science Museum and one in Canada
Also the cost of running her and the maintance would be very expensive.
Well, it has done its job and the original paint is going back on.

We did a bit of hasty sprucing up of the registration (which until that point had been covered over with the cocooning – horrible stuff to get off!) and some experimental polishing of the fuselage ahead of the cockpit door (now, sadly, obliterated by the silver paint applied to replicate G-ALVG for the Comet 50th anniversary). When finished the cabin looked quite presentable, there being only a limited amount we could do with money and resources available.
Those were the days!:)
Nice pictures, espec of the polished metal. the oval window in the picture is in the first class area, but there is now an original square one in its place.
still limited resources available as always.
do you have any others of her in those day as ill add them to my collection of her history. the seats have been removed since then.

Thanks cloudpainter, one day hope to get the real Comet to that standard.
I have one of the Dinky BOAC mk 1s
You got a heater?? they must have liked you.
we are painting the outside first then tending to the inside.
Will
I agree, love the logo at the front.
the insides were stripped before she came to us, so there is nothing in her and surprisingly very little corrosion.
Will
Yep im part of the team working on her which is why im looking for pictures of her in service.
the cosford Comet was the third of the Air france fleet, but was then converted to 1xb and no longer has its square windows.
Will
Thanks Jon
Does anything from those two still exist?
Shame as they are beautiful machines, but the bad press had already set in killing the Mk1
Thanks for the tip Jon. i was trying to find pictures of them in service with the airline to get a pictorial history of their service.
