Blue skies. I cant really add to the glowing praise already shown.
No idea, reminds me more of a Catch the Pigeon drawn machine but I like it
Nice find 🙂
The highlight figure does seem a tad high but then it does state that other work is included in that. Good to hear the MOD are willing to invest sizeable amounts still.
I had to look up the 109 mentioned in the article. Has it re emerged at all?
One of the LPG pilots/committee members put a good write up on the Bruntingthorpe FB group over the weekend trying to clear up lots of rumours. Ill see if I can find it again as it had some good points but it did confirm the Guppy was for the chop.
Its the Vimy that had the fire. Brooklands have one replica that did long distance flights.
I was literally coming to ask the same question. Some of the aircraft listed seem sad but sensible (Neptune) but others really seem an odd choice.
I have a soft spot for the Vimy and think it deserves its place in the collection (even if she is a replica and quite large)
I guess some of these would be Manchester doubles.
Well A forum lives and dies by people posting. If we keep it ticking over so there is stuff for people to read the membership should go back up.
I’m afraid I cant help but I was surprised to see an in wing machine gun on the drawing. Is this a normal fit that I’ve ignored all this time?
A Gofundme page has been set up as after inspection the engine problem is far worse than thought and requires replacement. This means lifting her out the loch, doing the work then lifting her back in to fly home (hopefully before winter sets in)
How bad is the Viking?
I don’t but its a type I really want to see fly. It would be on my list for a lottery win.
I cant help sadly but I am intrigued where this aircraft is now? Have many memories helping on bits of the DH museums 125.
Looks better on my screen and is loading smoothly. I hope those pee’d of members do slowly drift back as nowhere has picked up the feel and momentum here used to have.
