Love the tracker function – great for those wishing to catch a pig on its road trip 🙂
Well done to HARS in NSW for adding yet another great aircraft to their collection. I still think it was a shame that so many were bulldozed and buried but we have to be thankful at least some were saved and are now pride of place in a number of worthy museum collections.
Phil I’m not complaining all the time as you allege, a forumite said they couldn’t view it on YT as Channel 4 and I simply added a direct link – maybe I was too harsh on you, but the title was different to the title of the actual program, may cause confusion. Clarity and correctness is key in a messy Internet world, as a journo you should know that.
Anyway that’s ok, the link is there – but best not to confuse forum members here by using an ID that I use on another forum in Australia and not here 😉
I enjoyed the program too ! Now relax, dress up in your fave pilots outfit & have a drink, I’m off to work on a Boomerang. Have a great weekend 🙂
Charliehunt – maybe try this link below – I can’t seem to work it from down under, but it does have a view option on the Channel 4 site
Daniel / Phil – please add more info to your posts, a one line comment does not really cut it, doesn’t even fully describe what the link is, especially when its blocked in some countries….

Title is “Bloody Foreigners – The Untold Battle of Britain”
Mate, you know my kids would simply turn around and belt me 🙂 Thanks for the description though, makes a lot of sense and good to know I have pretty much the complete system including the extinguishers (though one is still full of the nasty stuff, something to tackle down the track…)
Yes I believe so, one is for forward crashing (for want of a better term) and the other is for sideways (i’m guessing maybe one u/c up landing) – it’s hooked into the flame switches on the firewalls that kick the fire extinguisher system in – this is based on my limited knowledge and viewing of original Graviner adverts, so if I’m well off the mark, my apologies !
thread bump two or so years on 🙂
During this week I was sent a pic of one of the M.1.1 units used in a Martinet, I had been told previous that they were used in Beauforts, so this was news and a suprise.
Still havent worked out just why there were so many variants, and why some had levers on the side and others not – and why some are called gravity switches and others inertia switches. Yes I’m full of questions, probably something to do with having easter eggs for brekky with the kids 😉
Anyone able to help with any info I’d be really grateful
Cheers
Ewan
PM Coming
Good luck everyone, hope to see some pics and hear of some bargains – anyone find any Beaufighter bits let me know 🙂
Its a restoration group based in NSW, Australia. Historical Aviation Restoration Society. They have numerous restorations and flying aircraft in their collection. I was lucky enough to see the Catalina and the Super Constellation flying at the recent Avalon Airshow just outside of Melbourne.
Their website is here…
Hope that explains more than the original post header / message
Oh, an Aussie aircraft fan, eh?
O completely agree on the Kangaroo, but have never seen a pic of the square-tail turbo-supercharged Boomerang!
And now I have… http://1000aircraftphotos.com/Contributions/Braas/9515.htm http://ww2fighters.e-monsite.com/pages/commonwealth-boomerang.html
I’ll jump in here and add my wish – a CA-4 / CA-11 Woomera.
They are amazing. Thanks for sharing that link 🙂
Thats excellent info, really appreciate the help, and rest assured it’s going straight into the collection of bits 🙂
Pete, apologies for delay, been overloaded at work 🙁
Part number reads F.B. 84343-1 Since then I have discovered a P&W tool of some sort in the boxes as well. This guy had rebuilt a Hercules and a Merlin that ran in his backyard (unsure if the neighbours appreciated it !) Also found a few more FB parts which will go into the box to add to the collection
Many thanks for all your help !
