Back in 1977 i was travelling from Bristol to Shannon with a stop in Dublin, equipment for the flight’s was due to be a BAW Bae 1-11 BRS-DUB & an EIN B742 DUB-SNN.
The BRS-DUB flight was operated by a Viscount(i was not complaining!!!!!),& the DUB-SNN sector was operated by a train as EIN were on strike!!!!!!.
Better luck on the return, SNN-DUB by an EIN B707 & DUB-BRS by an EIN B732.

EAL had 6 B742’s before there mini collapse earlier this year,at present there is one in AMS(G-BDXO i think),G-BDXE which left BOH for YEG(not sure why?),one was stored at Filton, this was due to ferry to EXT earlier this week not sure whether it did or not?.
That leave’s 3 which are at BOH at present G-CCMA which is all white and an ex VIR machine, and 2 other’s 1 of which is engineless, next time i visit i will note which one’s we have and which one is engineless.

As a local, this is great new’s for all of us down here, especially after the Buzz/RYR debacle(I had a ticket booked with Buzz),it will be interesting to see MOL’s reaction to this one!!!!. I doubt he’s got the finance’s to buy out the TUI group.
We are apparently having 2 ex DLH B733’s based for the 6 destination’s.
Here’s looking forward to my first Thomsonfly flight!!.

FLX, The viewing deck is fine as it has a screen showing arr/dep, with good view’s of the main cargo ramp(altough some a/c may be parked head on).
One piece of advice i would give you is to walk to the car park on terminal 2 from here you can see the ramp where they park the IL76’s when they are in here, also WDL F27’s.
Traffic can be a bit slow but you never know when one of them 76’s is coming in so you may be rewarded for your patience.
    Have a good day.

DTW,MSP & Florida early November for me.

Hagar, You can veiw & take good photo’s from the mound…..from terminal 3(the one the low cost & charter airline’s use),walk toward’s the RER station, from there walk toward’s an Air France building then turn left, with a car park on your right, after you pass the car park turn right onto a grassed area, then walk toward’s the parallel taxiway’s.
I was here earlier this year & spent 2 day’s without any hassle from the authorities,it is an excellent place for photo’s as there is a fence in a ditch which does not come into veiw on your photo’s.
My advice would be to go & have a good time.

    Paul,
A tip for you,if you have a machine readable ticket you can use the automatic check in machine’s which are located in terminal 2. This allow’s you to select your seat, issue’s baggage tag’s the lot they are very good.
Lufthansa have them at most airport’s and i use them all the time save’s all that queueing.

    Regard’s…….Steve.
