Do’es anyone remember the Constellation at Biggin Hill, either in the late 70’s or early 80’s that blew an engine during it’s display, from memory it was flying from LGW & i think it was registered N7777G???????.
    Propliner’s will alway’s be BEST.
But for mdern airliner’s at an airshow it has to be Airbus every time, the first time i saw the A300 FBW at Farnbourgh it amazed me with it’s high angle of attack and slow speed.

On Saturday there were 3 European 747’s @ BOH. One left Saturday evening to AMS & is due back Tuesday evening. Today G-BDXF (which had been @ Filton) has been engine running @ BOH & i understand that they have a contract fron the end of this month for 2 aircraft for 8 week’s, but i am not sure who for.

dc10fan,surely that’s not bad new’s at all to fly in a fine aircraft like the DC10( i have flown Laker, Canadian, Northwest) & i love them. I will be flying LGW-DTW-MIA, MIA-MSP-LGW in November, all Airbus aircraft except the last leg which is a DC10 which i am looking forward to as i did not anticipate crossing the Atlantic in a DC10 again!!!!!.

Geedee i would take no notice of KabirT’s remark’s, i have flown most type’s in the airbus range(A300,A310,A319,A320,A321), & will later this year fly Virgin A346,& Northwest A333 & A319.
I can honestly say that all flight’s in Airbus aircraft have been enjoyable & at no time did i feel unsafe.
    Over to you KabirT????????.

The Wideroe flight that was due at EDI was probably sat at BOH as it went tech with an oil leak. It was due to depart BOH at 11:40, but they sent in a substitute aircraft(another WIF DH8D), which finally left at 20:30. The sick aircraft night stopped and finally left at 08:45 this morning.

The normal rate of decent on a standard ILS is 3 degree’s, at LCY it is 7 degree’s to allow for the runway obstruction’s(mainly the building’s).
Crew normally train for this approach at CVT as they have PAPI’s set up there to simulate LCY.

Having only experienced Easyjet & Ryanair, i can only comment on these 2.
I have only flown Ryanair the once & that was enough for me, very inexperienced cabin crew(who they work very hard on temporary contract’s). They seem to change schedule’s at a whim, which is not good if you have booked hotel’s,car’s, etc. I also think MOL is very arrogant.
I have flown Easyjet many time’s & every time it has been a pleasant experience, mostly on-time with very effecient crew’s.

    Easyjet for me every time.
    Ryanair, never again.

The FRA-BRU incident was quite a few year’s ago & it happened the other way round, the aircraft was destined for FRA but landed at BRU instead.
Amazingly it also involved Northwest Airlines with a DC-10.
I’m flying Northwest in November LGW-DTW-MIA…..MIA-MSP-LGW, i hope they get it right then!!!!!!!!!.

I visited Mohave last November & there were 7 SWR MD11’s stored(HB-IWG,H,P,R,S,U,& N15WF), i think some of them have moved on now not sure how many though. On the same trip i also visited Goodyear, stored here were N274UP & N276UP of UPS, PP-VPN,O,& P of Varig, also 6 DAL N805DE,808DE,809DE,812DE,813DE, & 815DE.
At the moment there are 3 ex Alitalia MD11’s stored at CGN awaiting convertion by Boeing to freighter’s for Lufthansa Cargo who will become an all MD11 operator in the future.
N.B. The AZA MD11’s at CGN cannot be seen from the terminal they can be seen on arrival if you fly in.

Aurigny operate G-BPFN (SH3747) at the moment as well as leasing 1 from BAC Express. I am due to fly BOH-JEY-BOH in late October, 1st time in a shed & i’m looking forward to it as long as it’s not to windy!!!!.
