Hi Guys,
The Mossie is 1/5th scale.

Hi All,
A few piccies of aircrew in the cockpit. Only just started putting the detail in – long way to go! The pilot only needs his Sutton Harness to be finished off, but the nav still needs some more work, before he’s complete, too.
Cheers,
Neilly
Hi All,
The only info I have on KA 999 was that it was retained in Canada. But who knows f’sure? All the photos, I’ve so far looked at showing B 25’s, show them with the extra intake.

Hi Eddie,
Unfortunately, I don’t know enough about the different Merlin engine variants. The only thing I’ve read is something about improved single stage (?), whether that has anything to do with it, I don’t know.

Hi Guys,
The only problem I have with some of the details is; If that is KA 999, which was supposed to be a B 25, then it should have an intercooler air intake under each spinner, but it hasn’t. I have check as many pictures as I can find of B XX/25’s & the B 25’s all have the extra intake for the Packard Merlin 225’s. Would someone tell me why XB-HOB, a supposed B 25, is lacking this detail?
Cheers,
Neilly
Hi Don,
Can’t really tell you to much, but the Mosquito is a B IV series ii. I’ll see what I can read up & let you know.
Cheers,
Neilly
If you liked that one, how about an inverted Tempest?
Dean,
If you can make the aircraft reg. code I may be able to tell you a bit more.
Cheers,
Neilly
Hi Skypilot,
PF 607 was a B XVI,built by Percival Aircraft, Luton. It was part of a 195 BXI order & built between May 1944 & Dec. 1945. She initally served with 98 Sqd, then 14 Sqd & then back to 98 Sqd. PF 607 swung on landing, to avoid overshooting runway & the undercarriage collapsed 11th Aug. 1948. & that was it – off to the scrapman :<(
Cheers,
Neilly
Geedee, I think you need to get out a bit more!

Hi All,
What a superb weekend the last MAA Reunion was! Just got back – knackered & just about out of voice. I only have two major regrets; I didn’t go to a reunion 5 years ago (when I first joined) & that this is the last one.
There are so many memoirs that will remain with me forever. Amongst the best – spending an hour or so with ‘Hilly’ Hillard & listening to stories & anecdotes of the Banff Wing (& also getting his signature in my Mosquito ‘bible’).
This was just a brilliant weekend. The MAA commitee should be really proud of what they achieved, not just this weekend but over the last 13 years.
Here’s one for next years diary – 10th April at the Mosquito Museum, there will be a dedication & plaque to the Mosquito aircrew & groundcrew who were killed in the war.
Cheers for now, from a tired but happy, Neilly.
Hi All,
The timings; We’re supposed to arrive at 10.30 @ the Conference Centre entrance (?). Then there are individual tours starting @ 11.00. After about 12.45 the day is carefully ‘mapped out’. There will be about 150 of us, so the MAA party should be quite noticable. If you do make it, Firebird, try & find me. I’m quite noticeable, too. 6’4″ & built like a second row forward (we should all have name badges, so that should help)
As for the recording? I don’t know, although there was mention in an early edition of The Mossie, that there would be some sort of TV interviews, whatever, on the day, but I don’t know any more than that.
Bruce, how’s the new hanger coming along? I haven’t been down since early May. Always a pleasure, though. Salisbury Hall will always be a favourite aviation place for yours truly. Say hello to Bob, from me, when you next see him. btw. you were going to sort out some Boscombe Down info for my CD.
Cheers for now,
Neilly
I thought a few unseen Mossie pictures my go down, too.
I may be wrong, but I think Bob Jens is an airline pilot, so it could very well be him.
I thought these pictures of the Ferrymead Mosquito restoration, might interest.

Hi All,
The first Glyn Powell fuselage is going to the Windsor Bomber Group http://www.mossie.org/windsor/windsor.htm
These are a couple of pictures of Bob Jens Mosquito B.35, VR 796. They were taken at the beginning of this year. I do have more but, because of pc problems, I can’t reduce them to a suitable size for this site.
Cheers,
Neilly
