Hi Charles,
Which period of DZ 383’s history are you interested in? Originally this Mosquito was with 540 Sqd. & then became the photograpgh aircraft of 138 Wing.
The little black ‘dot’ just above & to the rear of the port wing trailing edge is the oblique camera.

Hi All,
My favourite is the Ronald Wong print “Prelude to Peace”. It has pride of place in my living room. A really atmosphric picture.

Don’t what happened there, but I seem to have lost my piccies. Try #2!
The before & after! 😡
Hi Andrewman,
I know what it’s like to suffer this sort of damage. I’d just spent a whole day spraying my Mosquito wings, when a sudden gust of wind blew the right one, over. Most disconcerting 😡

The Mosquito taking off, with the B-17s in the background, was taken at Wyton. The Mosquito belonged to 128 Squadron.
As for spelling? Me thinks people can be a little too pedantic (not having a go at you Janie), but whatever floats your boat! The Mosquito was named after the insect, so what the heck. I shall keep spelling it Mosquitoes!

A few more Mosquitoes from the de Havilland stable!

Hi All,
Thought I’d check what the dictionary says, about Mosquito -es or -s.
Seems were all right!

Hi All,
I think the last word on Mosquitos or Mosquitoes should rest with Geoffrey de Haviiland. Anyone who has read his autobiography will know, the quickest way to get the great mans wrath, was to write Mosquitos! He maintained it should be written Mosquitoes.

Hi Stewart,
Contact me off forum. I’ll send you a copy of my Mosquito CD. Loads of pictures & reading meterial on it (about 550 megs worth of stuff there!).

Hi dh,
Yep, I know (It’s also the LMA ‘do’ at Cosford on the 10-11th July, too). However, my Mossie will not have passed it’s CAA exemption stuff by then. So, I couldn’t fly it there even if I wanted to.
That Mossie video was (I assume it still is) available from The Mossie Museum. It’s very good.

Hi All,
Not dead, yet, still shakin’ boss! I keep an eye on the posts, but I don’t have to much time these days. Lots of effort going into finishing off my model, but I’m getting there! I do have some pictures of the Highball being dropped, but I’m blowed if I can find it at the moment. The picture quality isn’t very good, but……..if I can find I’ll post it.
A good video to get, which includes Capt. Eric Brown & his escapades with the Mosquito carrier landings, is Men & Mosquitoes.

Neilly
Who said Highball?

Hi All,
If you want a low flying Spitfire fix, take a look at this site (takes a while to load, for those of us without broadband). Keep a look out in the bottom right corner!

Hi All,
My initial thought was King George, but the rank wasn’t right! I hadn’t thought about the Duke of Gloucester.
