Ford was used by the Fighter Intercption Unit, which was based there, as well as several Mosquito Squadrons, from time to time. Squadrons that I know were there 256,418, 456 & 605. These Squadrons were based there between 1942 & late 1944.

Men Behind the Medals! Always interesting & well written.

Anything to do with Mosquitoes, Beaufighters, Tempest/Typhoons, P-40s & most things WW2. That covers most things for me.

The person you want to get hold of is Tom W. He’s working on the Tempest V at Booker.

LVG? I’ll be low flying in my LGV! Watch out down the M 11, M 25 today, if it’s big, & it’s red & white, then it could be Neilly in a rush to finish early:p

    C U All tomorrow:)

    Hi Kev,

Leicester or somewhere like Peterborough is a possibility, too. If possible try & find as many rail times as poss. & we can all sort it out amongst ourselves.

We’ll get you there one way or another.

Ashley, sorry to be a pain, but are we going in the same entrance as last time, too?

    Cheers,

    Hi All,

Build a Mossie? Take from me it’ll be one of the difficult things anyone could take on. Speaking from a modelling point of view – the Mosquito IS without doubt the mosy difficult modelling project I’ve ever attempted!

Trouble is, for the real thing, not only do you have the aeroplane to build, but all those moulds, jigs etc to make, too. When one considers how long Glyn Powell’s been at it, now, & only has the fuselage done. A lot of time & money is definitely needed!

    Hi Shorty,

The first coats are red primer & the last is silver. This is to counter the UV effects of the sun.

    Try again!

Janie, the computer just cut me off, half way through your e-mail, if it doesn’t come through properly, tell me & I’ll send it again.

Mark, I think I may have mixed you & MarkV up (too many Marks, I really need a lie down!)

Off to work soon, so I can upset lots of motorists, I can see this is going to be a good day!:p

    Cheers,
