If any of you are wondering about the colours on the fuz – the top is still in primer & the underneath is too dark. A bit of trial & error – I thought I’d got it right when I had an experiment on the fuz. Doh!
It’ll only let me post 1 picture at a time!
The electrics & engines (the wiring for the electrics is a lot tider now!).
Hi Aliatair,
I can bore for Britaian on Mosquitoes & my number 1 toy – Freddie (Named after F-bar Freddie, LR 503). The engines are 45cc, I think they’re rated at 6.8 hp. The props are 22″x8″ (scale size would be 24″, but I’d need a lot bigger engines to turn them!).
The above picture was taken just before the 2nd engine run ups. I’ve been having trouble with the left engine not running properly. I tried changing everything over & came to the conclusion there was a problem with silencer. This Saturday I put the original silencers on (extra ‘plumbing’ needed & the silencers just hung in fresh air) just to try out my theory. Before I could only get 5,800rpm & the engine struggled to get there. Now I’ve got 6,100rpm & a nice crisp engine. So I now have to sort out some better silencers, that fit the engine nacelle!
Todays Mosquito Monday, as it’s known in the Neilly household. Neilly plays with his #1 toy.:D

Hi P II,
Start the way most of us did, at the beginning. You’re bound to make mistakes, it’s all a question of getting the techniques right. The only way that’ll happen is by building the models. If the Spitfire is an expensive model, then go out & buy a cheapy & practice on that, first. I have to admit I still get things wrong, but it’s usually because I didn’t put enough thought time in & planned it better.
If you’re unsure, join a club. If American modellers are anything like the Brits, then they’ll only be to glad to help & put you right. America has some of the best kit manufacturers in the World, so you ain’t got an excuse for not trying. Eventually, you’ll get carried away & start building big models!

Neilly

P II, I think Play.com must export to the States, because there a list of countries in the address information, when ordering & the USA is in there. Give a go & see.

Hi Yak II,
Brilliant mate! Thanks very much. I was very interested in the light grey shading. I’ve seen this light shading on some black & white pictures & thoght it was just a ‘trick of the light’.
Many thanks again:D

Hi Alexis,
That model is regularly advertised in the model mags. I’ll try & find a phone number. One you might try is Mick Charles models 0208 393 3232. Another is SMC 0190 3207525
I also think that Stu Mackay imports a very acurrate scale model of the T-33, but it’s a lot more expensive. If you’re interested I’ll find out more details for you.

Hi Snapper,
You mean I’ve got to stick to my 25year old Canon AE1, then! I don’t think I’m up to this more modern technology:rolleyes:

Hi Guys,
If you go back to page 6, you’ll find Spooky half way down. Can’t make a reply on that thread, as it’s been closed:confused:
Don’t know where Spooky 2 is though!

Hi Ant & Yak II
Thanks for the link Ant – excellent. Some super piccies.
Yes Yak II I’d like a couple of pictures of the P-51 exhaust stubs. Looking at the pictures of RS 702, the exhaust stubs look a bit to clean. I think for my model they need to look well worn & plenty of staining.
Thanks both,
Neilly
