    RE: BoB on DVD

    Hi All,

I’m a DD Video Club Member & I’ve not seen any mention of BofB on DVD in any of the DD Video catalogues, yet. If & when it’s released, you can all be sure I’ll post it on this site.

    Cheers,

I think you may be right, Lancman. I finally got to see a couple of clips, but the third one came up with the notice. At least I know it works, now.

    Hi Lancman,

I did all that, but it keeps telling me my basket is empty & that’s as far as I can get.

Pardon me for being stupid, but how do you get the clips to run? As none of the ones I’ve clicked do, they just go to the shopping basket & that’s it!

    RE: Tempests

    Hi All,

I think the Tempest should be put into Bee Beamonts colours. In recognition of not only a superb aeroplane, but a superb pilot, too!

Hanging it from a ceiling, words fail me!!! (At risk of getting shot down, I think the American Hanger at Duxford is a mess!).

Well done Snapper, excellent little narrative.

    Cheers,

    Hi Ant,

If you don’t get any joy, try putting your request on this site –

    http://www.rafcommands.com/

It never ceases to amaze me the ammount of knowledge on this site, concerning aircrews missing or killed in action.

    RE: Forum Getogether?

    Hi All,

Perhaps one of you clever lot out there ought to put together some sort of poll so we can see:

    A. When would be the most popular time for the get together.
    B. What films, talk etc the majority would like to see happen, at the get together.

Start off with the biggest possible dates, films etc & whittle them down in a poll.

    Cheers,
    Neilly

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 15-10-02 AT 08:53 AM (GMT)]Sounds a good idea to me, provided it’s on a week-end. If we’re making a night of it, what about ‘Target to Night’, as well, for those of us who are more into the ‘heavies’?

    Hi Kev,

The Bomber Command Losses always start with the Pilot & I’ve listed them as they are in the book.

    [updated:LAST EDITED ON 06-10-02 AT 07:15 PM (GMT)]Hi Kev

According to Bomber Command Losses, The whole crew perished in the crash. They were:
    Sgt.L.W.Morrison
    Sgt.C.N.Caldicott
    Sgt.J.A.Duffield (RCAF)
    Sgt.A.M.Cormack
    Sgt.E.Dyson
    Sgt.W.Y.Emerslund (RCAF)
    Sgt.T.H.Bevan
They are all buried in the Frederikshavn Cemetery, Denmark.

No details of cause of crash. The Lancaster came down at 02.00hrs at Gronhoj, 15kms SW of Viberg. The aircraft exploded on impact.

61 Sqd Lancaster RS 724, on the same raid, was damaged by flak & then engaged by 2 nightfighters. However the crew managed to bring her back, to crash land at Wittering. Despite most of the crew being injured, they all survived.

Hope this is of use to you.

    Cheers,
    Neilly
