You’re quite right about the Liverpool Mosquito. It’s a Mosquito B35, TA 634, now on display at the Mosquito Museum, London Colney. Despite all the adverse weather conditions she’s had to put up with, in her past (before they built the Goldsmith Hanger), the airframe is in pretty good condition.
As for the Mosquito as an aeroplane It was quite simply – THE BEST!!!!!!!! Another saying for the Mossie, from the War, “she’s all things, to all Men” because of it’s versatility.

I’ll find out about the wings origins. I know the IAF only had 2 Sea Mosquitoes on their charge, so the percentages are against, but I will find out.
The Museum are hoping to mate the wings to the fuz next year, so that’ll be something special to look forward to.

The fuz has been totally recovered & that’s the first coat of dope. There are 2 more red, then silver (UV protection), then primer & finally the finishing paint job.
The 2nd picture didn’t come out to well, but it’s supposed to show the wing ribs. The wing itself came from Israel, I don’t think it belonged to a Sea Mosquito. It’s certainly a one piece wing, with no joins in it.

I was there a fortnight ago & thought the RAF Museum was in resonable shape (I hadn’t been there for 15 years so I don’t know all the upheavals that have been going on, apart from what I’ve read.
As for the Mosquito Museum (Salisbury Hall is my favourite piece of hallowed ground!) is a great place to go on a Sunday, because the guys are working on the airframes (the FB VI is starting to look great!) & will always stop & chat if you have a question. A really friendly place to visit.

I agree with Yak- the Scimitar was a beautiful car, in both looks & HANDLING (which the Mini certainly wasn’t. What understeer?!!!!). As for the Mini’s character? It’s a shed with a wheel at each corner! (I learnt to drive on a Scimitar & Triumph 2.5 PI) My mate has rebuilt his Mk1 Scimitar, which included a few add on extras in the engine department – nearly 450 bhp! You need bike clips round your trousers- adrenalin is definitly BROWN! Superb piece of British engineering!
Personally, I preferred the Imp, over the Mini any day. Much better handling, especially with a 1300cc lump in the back!

If you go to the Hannants web site, they do loads of conversion kits for models(as well as being the largest model shop in England, I think).
