Hi Bill,
Hope we can meet up – perhaps you might know a good hotel or motel close to the airfield. I shall be there both days – trying not to dribble to much when KA114 is flying:)
TTFN,
Neil
Hi Paul,
I’m now a definite for going – I may have talked a couple of like minded Mosquito anorak friends to come, too. Let me know if you’re a positive for Hamilton and we’ll try and meet up.
TTFN,
Neil
Hi Scotty,
The new version of Photobucket, once you get use to it, is far better than the old version. What you have to do is:
1. Put the cursor on the picture you want to upload to the site. A little ‘cog’ will appear in the top right corner of the picture. Put your cursor on that. A small drop down menu will appear.
2. Click on the “Get Links”
3. The screen will go black and another menu will appear saying “Share the Photo”. Go to the bottom where it says IMG Codes. In the box below that, with the faded looking lettering put your cursor on there and left click. The letter will disappear and the word copied will appear briefly, before the box turns yellow.
4. Then just paste your picture in the usual way.
One thing I will add – make life easy for yourself and create separate libraries within your Photobucket because if you put older pictures in there it tends put them in date order and you then have to go look for them.
Cheers,
Neil
Hi Culpano,
I would look carefully at changing. I don’t know about the Nikon version but the Canon 28-300mm L Lens isn’t the best. I know the Canon 70-300mm L lens is fairly new on the market and therefore newer technology but it is a very good lens, so I assume the Nikon will be fairly comparable.
Have a look on these two comparison sites – they might give you a better idea what to expect.

I hope this helps.

Hi Ben,
You’ve got absolute crackers there. I hope we see a lot more:D

Hi All,
Some more pictures from a night time photoshoot at Bagington Airport.

TTFN,
Neil
Thanks for the comments:)
Now it’s Flying Legends turn. How many pictures do you guys want to see before you get bored? I have rather a large surfeit of pictures. Here’s your starter…………….

TTFN,
Neil
Great set, Skyraider – look forward to more pictures from you. I think we’d all have a Perma-Grin, too. What a great experience!
Happy 2013 to you,
Neil
And the next batch…………….

The next 4 pictures are interesting in their own way. the Tonka had been worked on all morning before taking off in the early afternoon with a full payload. It came back nearly an hour later with an undercarriage problem.

A Typhoon was scrambled to go and have a look and see if there was a visible problem.
Everything seemed alright – The Tonka then dumped fuel – all over Lincolnshire:diablo:
Pilot made a perfect landing with no problem.
TTFN,
Neil
Gotta agree with Baldrick – I like the black Cat pics, too. Good set of pictures.
TTFN,
Neil
Hi All,
I don’t get to go to many full size airshow because I’m mainly doing LMA airshow pictures. However, I managed to get to a couple this year + the Victory Show. Last year I didn’t get to a single ful size show so the last show season I had was 2010 which was pretty good. This year I was a bit disappointed in the displays, from a photographic point of veiw. Far to many figure of 8 turns and aircraft showing the underneath rather than the top of the aircraft – whatever happened to the good old Farnborough pass??? Anyway here’s my first selection from the 2012 Cosford display.

TTFN,
Neil
Still with Harriers a few more – Including the final photoshoot – a very sad day.

A little bit of simple Photoshoppery on this one
Also the end of another great aeroplane

And as Scampton is now the closest RAF station to Yours Truly – some Red Arrow pics to finish off with!

TTFN,
Neil
Some absolutely superb shots – love the F-16 trailing all the heat jelly! The first picture of the RAF Tonka is pretty special, too:cool:
Happy New Year to all,
Neil
Thanks, Ant. I don’t have much info on the HP42. I know its 1/8th scale, so I guess the wingspan is around 12′. I should’ve given Ian (the guy who built it) an information sheet but forgot – so I’m waiting for an e-mail from him with more details. I’ll let you know more info., soon.
As for the Lightning – you’re right. Everything about the model is correct. There was an old boy watching who worked on them for nearly 20 years and he said he’d never seen such an accurate model of the Lightning.
Cheers,
Neil
ps I’ll try and dig out some Tempest V pics.:)
NH
No safety chutes used in this country on large models – as for the USA or any other country for that matter, I don’t know. Never seen or read anything about the use of safety chutes on large models, but that doesn’t mean they’re not being used, somewhere.
The weight of the Vulcan is right at the maximum top end of the LMA/CAA exemption scheme. However, for its size and weight it literally ‘floats’ off the ground. The wing sections are all actual scale Vulcan chords which probably accounts for this. The model flew beautifully in the strong wind conditions which were around 20mph for most of the day.
