Hi Alex,
Just checked all my books- no mention of OP codes on Mosquitoes. As you say the only listing I can find is for 11 OTU & they used Wellingtons. The other 2 OP units were 3 Squadron RCAF (codes not taken up) & 32 OTU RCAF.
I would add, (although I’m sure you know) 618 Squadron didn’t have codes letters allocated to it.
Cheers,
Neilly
A case of when is an FB VI not an FB VI? When it’s a B 35 with an FB VI nose!
The majority of the Mossie started out life as VP 189, a B 35. The Mossie was acquired by 418 (Reserve) Squadron RCAF in 1966. It underwent a full static restoration in 1993 & came back with a new nose job

Hi Guys,
That B 17 has been up for sale at least twice, that I know of. Far tooooo expensive!!!
Here’s some pics I took at Wroughton, a few weeks ago. The C 130 is so big the Swindon club have to ring up Benson’s ATC to let them know it’s flying, because it comes up on their radar screen. Unfortunately, they were dismantling it when I got there, but you can still see the high size of the model.
The ME 262 belongs to John Greenfield & the Vulcan is Dave Johnsons.

Hi
Take a look at some of the other topics on the Scale section. Take a real close look at the C 47 Update & see how realistic that model looks.

Hiya,
You want models? Take a look at this site:

I suppose another couple of Mosquito pics might be in order? NT 225 ‘O’ in flying trim.

Hi RadarAchive,
Nope, the model is correct (I should know, ‘cos I sent John a whole pile of Mk XVIII pics). Some Mk XVIII’s had only 2x .303’s, instead of the usual 4.
Cheers,
Neilly
Hi Alex,
I’ve got a listing for the 10th March 44. A 248 Sqd. Mk XVIII WR-E (don’t have a reg) shot down a JU88.
Neilly
& one or two FB’s
Okay, here are one or two of my Mossie pics. Bombers first

Hi Alex,
The reference to W/c Rose is in Alec McKee’s book Mosquito Log. I’ll have a look through my list of Mosquito A2A claims & see if I can find exact date. It might take a while (just spent all bl**dy morning copying CD’s!!!), but I’ll be back (good line that!).

Hi Alex,
Got my combats mixed up – try Wing Commander Rose. He shot down a JU88 off Lands End, with a single shot.
Neilly
The Mossie pilot was Sqd/Ldr Rose & the range was reported to be about 1 mile. One big bang & bye bye JU88!

Neilly
Hi Guys,
Not your photos, Moondance, but on the original post by Stormbird. 2 of them are mine, but who cares, just good to see Mossies!!! I add any new Mosquito pics to my CD (so you can guess where all the above photos are now). I have one or two Mossie photos. However, there never seems to be much responce when I post Mosquito Photos so I don’t bother any longer.
Stormbird, how can I take you seriously when you think a Spitfire is better looking than a Mosquito (I guess we should send you to SpecSavers). However, I always like a bit of a challenge & if you send me your address I’ll mail you a copy of my CD. I think there will be enough Mossie stuff to keep you quite for a day or 2.
TTFN,
Neilly
ps Dave, not forgotten, your CD will be in post later in the week.

Hi All,
John Ranson’s beautiful model of a Mk XVIII. Looks & flies superbly.
