G-AGPG
Have only recently joined and read this thread. Worked on this aircraft whilst an apprentice in the mid 60s. From memory there was a plate in it stating it was an Avro 19 series 2. The nose for the radome was removed from EKCO’s orginal Anson G-ALIH. The engineer I was working with removed the instrument panel and rebuilt this so the radar screen could be fitted. We also had problems with obtaining spare parts in those days. The conversion took as long the aircraft was threaten with being torched if not finished in time, and when it was completed the aircraft was inspected by Phillips who owned EKCO. The a/c was looked after by ATEL for a time, then BKS before going to the museum.
