Thanks for that beau WIBAL just to get it in first.
I should think so-just don’t ask him which Legends!
YES! That’s improved my afternoon no end.
There’s always hope that the HAC Fury… might emerge. .
It emerged about three years ago, and seems to have done a vanishing act ever since! A great shame since I was looking forward to seeing it at airshows. Not holding out any hopes!
Meddle-it was this one. AFAIK there haven’t been any other airworthy Blenheims (apart from the very short-lived G-MKIV in 1987) since the 1940s.
Brilliant! So looking forward to seeing this fly- I was 13 last time around!
Argonaut-This is the aircraft which previously flew as a long-nosed Mk. IV (G-BPIV) and had a landing accident at Duxford in 2003. The nose (and serial) is from a Mk. I which was saved by a Bristol employee and converted into a car after the war.
I’ve “liked” it! Daniel-do you know if the museum is undergoing a bit of a re-organisation and revival as seems to have happened at the National Aviation at Moorabbin? It’s been really heartening to follow the updates posted by Bellarine et al on here covering their rationalisation of exhibits, expansion of activities and new projects etc.
I hardly noticed that! Was too fixated on the big sideslip on landing-which looked rather alarming from the angle the video was filmed…
Brilliant! Have never seen a DB-powered ‘109 and have wished this machine back over the Atlantic for years!
That engine looks like it went into the water only yesterday! Well done to the RCAF for raising this unique machine and its crew.
Bit of a gap in Cosford’s collection-wouldn’t it be nice if XS743 eventually wound up there?
Like others I am amazed it’s still flying!
Lightning does look great-but perhaps the Vulcan or Trident guys could spare 5 minutes from their (amazing!) work and paint some fin flashes?! 😀
raflec-Yes, it’s the same museum, but they’ve just expanded their remit to include a bigger variety of transport machines 🙂
Something I’d love to go and see someday, along will all the other amazing treasures at NASM.

Type was a Viscount -ran off the runway it seems. That might help jog someone’s memory?
What a shame about LJ925-lots of other aircraft have come out of Norwegian lakes in excellent nick!
