I doubt Kermit Weeks Mossies is airworthy any more. as the climate, I believe will have effected the adhesive used on the wings and it hasnt flown in ages.Unless anyone knows different
Thursday is normally press day so there is a fair bit of flying and Fridays good as you get aircraft arriving
As Taken from the IWM website:
Flying Legends Air Show – Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 July 2006
This unique and spectacular air show is firmly established as the warbird show in Europe, featuring a matchless selection of the great propeller-driven combat aircraft of two World Wars. In beautifully staged and choreographed flying sequences, classic American and European fighters take to the sky with both days culminating in the emotive spectacle of the mass flypast finale. The veterans, the pilots, the aircraft and the atmosphere are all here in this wonderful, nostalgic two-day action experience.

Looking at the programme it doesn’t look like there has been a lot put into it by the IWM as its made up of RAF, RNHF and resident private owners, there are no other visiting aircraft!
and with the suggested costs is it worth it?
The difference with this and other mundane IWM shows and Legends is at least TFC try to give the public something different each year.
IWM just change the colour of the bouncy castle if your lucky
Well Done Kev
If they are unloading crates outside TFC, I hope that Rastacat is at a safe distance.
Ouch!!
Ah! The contra view. 😉
Mark
Nudge Nudge wink wink know what you mean!! 😀 😀 😉
???? is it or isn’t it ????
It maybe something else!!
Without wishing to tar you all as ‘Armchair Experts’, but I don’t suppose any of you have offered your own services in restoring this aircraft?
Limited time, Limited resources, volunteer labour and a large aircraft, its easy to criticise, so why not volunteer? :diablo:
What time will you be there? And will the other half be with you;)
Being Picky!!
In SPR, the P-51’s are the correct models and are correctly depicted with invasion stripes,
Sorry to be picky and a complete anorak but one of the P-51s has 78th FG markings with invasion strips which I believe is wrong as the group was still flying P-47s at the time of the invasion and when the got there P-51s the invasion strips were not applied
Open up the catering to more competition, then maybe the prices would be more realistic.
If they want Bric-a-brac stalls put them over noth side along with the bouncy castle.
Double decker buses for the flight line walk.
Museum Aircraft outside.
But I can’t think of any thing to improve the flying display, the timing is right the pairing of aircraft by type, engine Maker etc, is good, Balbo brilliant (without the music!)
I would think that Pyros are out of the question probably because of the village nimbys and maybe the amount of aircraft movements in the time scale
I’m with Moggy on the French stuff
I also think the HP Hampden and the Short Stirling
I would agree with Ashley about the Runway Cafe at Duxford I don’t bother with it normally but I took a friend there after looking around the hangers and was plesently surprised the food was hot which is a good start and I didn’t think it was to expensive
