I do thinks the Dutch Marines could defend their soil with great pride.Are the US Rangers/Delta operators better than the Dutch Marines/Specops ?Somalia has shown the ugly side of the US forces.They were defeated by some armed militia,so i dont think a well trained Dutch Armed Forces-could not do better than the militia.

I’ve read the book back in 92.Nice and as usual -Clancy stuffs is full of technical jargon/latest intell info.If they change the plot-no so good idea.Patriot Games/Clear and Present Danger could have been a better movie if they stick to the original storylines.

The movie -a good potrayal of those men who gave their lives/and those who did not give up in order to uphold the trust given to them.Apart from the computer graphics a/c(Skyraider real though)-the valley do not really depict the harsh SEA jungle.They could have shot it somewhere in the tropics for added realism.Mell Gibson is the perfect actor fit for the role.I’ve never been to any war-but i’ve spoken to those who were involved in a similar conflict.
During the insurgency years-in 1979 Malaysia conducted the biggest combined arms ops against the CT codename OPS GUBIR.RMAF used for the first time -F5E + the CL41G TEBUAN.2 infrantry batt.fought the CT for 4 days in a row-in order to capture their basecamp.1 S61A4 were shot downed by the CT killing all the crew/passengers.Pilots remained in their seats while their a/c were rearmed/refueled.In the end after 6 days -the CT fled to the bordering Thailand.1 a/c lost,25 soldiers/airmen lost their life.The only things that these veterans could spelt out for me clearly-WE WON.They were soldiers once …..and young.

This years just like all the others -fair and square.I opted for early exit from my previous job-still unemployed.Relaxing and enjoying life to the fullest.I’m lucky to have a woman who really really loved me with all her heart and soul.Lost my mother when i’m just at the age of 19(diabetes),involved in a major mishap at the age of 27,lost a friend (a good one)the same year during night HAHO.So ,hows the year been so far for me-fair and square.I got to know new friends in this forum-that is quite nice for me .

SAF armoured corp with variant of the M60.It is widely believed that the recently completed massive underground weapons depot could easily accomodate app.50 M60s???????

A+ for you Minmiester,splendid translation.I just an ordinary citizen just like any other proud citizen of the world.I strongly believed that everyone should be proud of their own country regardless what others might thinks.(i’m sure you ‘re of those proud and friendly Aussie yourself).I’m born in KL 30 years ago,opted to left the govt. service early(not easy )and i believed that i did post my mailing address somewhere in the general forum.Pastinya kehidupan di Australia adalah lebih baik berbanding di Malaysia,namum ada waktunya KL menjanjikan sesuatu yg lebih bermakna.;-)
