I like the skateboard idea. I had this picture oh him coming to land and his little legs a blur.

I found the explanations of the difference between a Barrel roll and an Aileron roll very informative and will watch earobatics with a little inside knowledge.
Regarding the Barrell roll and visualising a point off to the left etc I presume the same procedure is followed in formation areobatics when one member is barrol rolling around another aircraft flying straight and level?
In the film BoB the young pilot who carries out a “victory roll” and then gets torn of a strip by his CO, would that manouvre be an Aileron roll or a Barrel roll?

MacDonald Holby and was it Silvia Peters or Mary Peters? I can remember the Interval between programmes. There was a windmill, a potters wheel or a horse drawn plough ploughing a field.
I am positive that we have not progressed in a civilised way. I agree with all the complaints mentioned above re at the end of programmes.

    😀 Dr Strangelove,
Perhaps I should change my user name. That’s the second time in a few years that someone has insinuated a risque connotation. One that I didn’t realise when chosen, honest, being my initials. No I’ll carry on, I know it’s innocent, to me at any rate.:o:(

On the second photo, is that a couple of cobwebs at the front going from the bomb-aimers glass up to the machine guns? These spiders get everywhere. No sooner have I cleaned the car and there they are!
It must have been a terrific lens you used! What superb photos.

The Daily Mail and those who buy it.
The media who turn everything into a major issue.
    They wheel on experts.
Start a discussion that has no hope of influencing decisions.
The self propelling news round that seems to feed of other media.
The emmediate and non stop exploration and speculation that just goes on and on and then suddenly you hear no more as if the crisis never existed.
    The Sun newspaper.
    X-factor.
The ongoing propogation of Evolution as a fact.
It’s getting late I must go.

When I first read Moggy’s post earlier I was expecting top gun not top gear:D

Anyway when Jeff first arrives at the gates he is greeted with a pole gate and a guard . Some bales of hay and a truck parked. Was this due to budget cuts?
    In the film I mean.
OoooH I hope the government has not seen this film it might give them ideas on how to meet their defence cuts.;)

But also remember in 2065 there will still be historians who will diligently search the truth and publish it whether film cd dvd or ?? you will no doubt have dedicated people who will research the correct clothing serial numbers etc just as the roman and civile war reenactors do today.
Those films while being propogander they had to be watchable and I feel that those old films often conveyed more than just the facts- attitudes beliefs and what was acceptable.

This film was shown on BBC2 last Sunday@ 11:30 am.
I have seen it before but not for a long time. so I watched it. I loved it, I thought I heard them mention cancer but he was told he had eight months to live. It was a very sad film towards the end. I had tears in my eyes at the end and I am 65! You’d think I was past all that! The sadness for me was heightened by the hope for the future portrade in the film compared with the spin and financiers and the politicians we have to put up with today.
