they tried all that in the old Top Gear… it died because it was so so so boring.

    Oh OK.

    Perhaps that’s why I didn’t watch it:D:o
Previously someone said that 5th gear had been dropped.
I suppose motornig as a subject is limited in appeal.
There are ways of improving traffic flow (besides the obviuos -too many vehicles). For instance A lower speed limit can keep traffic flowing better. not that I believe lower speed limited is the answer to everything.
Surely there are experts who have studied these problems have solutions that could be tried? I suppose that comes down to finance, like everything else.
See I am already boring myself:D and have gone off topic -sorry.

Top Gear. This title suggests a late ’60’s cloths show. ( perhaps that was the subtle play on words that only worked the once.)
Then it turns out to be a motoring show. But discussed nothing but very very expensive luxury cars. Then turned into last of the summer wine with one right wing, hang em high, up himself, bombastic bully. A young bit of eye candy for women and one sensible bloke with a reasoned outlook on life who becomes the butt of the other two’s unsympathetic snide remarks.
Then the producers give these three stupid tasks involving caravans, pick up trucks, and turning cars into boats that surprise surprise then sink.
Also doing pointless trips across areas of the world which would have benifited from the money being given to charities working in the areas.
Has an AA or RAC spokesman ever been on? Has an advanced motorists ever been on? Has a minister of transport or his modern equivilant been on?
Have they ever discussed road layouts or the planning behind them?
They may have mentioned the swindon system as a joky item.
As you can tell I have watched but only because my family like it, and I like the celebrity in a reasonable priced car part. But as a “motoring programme” it leaves a lot to be desired.
Merry Christmas and Happy new Year to each of you.

provided we still had the services wouldn’t there be active and retired personell who would be interested in continuing there trade learned in the service by restoring and keeping active airplanes, ships & cars etc? 2050 is a long way off and as had been mentioned above the world could be unrecognizable.

I think you’re being a little hard; we could probably all do more and the fact that we don’t doesn’t make us bad people…..or maybe it does.

How much does it cost to save a life? In the case of becoming an organ donor possibly nothing except the time to explain our wishes to our families.

What about those starving, or dying of easily treated illness in the world; how many lives would the cost of our iPod have saved? It makes you think doesn’t it?

I was just beginning to think along similar lines. Take the cost of the transplant to save one life in the west compared to the lives that money would save in the third world? We probably all get the letters from Oxfam or whoever where they write “£5 would educate this child up to 15”, etc etc.

BTW. Anybody else think that in the adverts Red Bull air racing looks great and a hugely exciting event yet when you sit down and watch it, its errm well………..not.

Yes. it’s the same with some car racing. Somehow in the editing for the tv shows there is no build up. Its just showing clips which do not capture the atmoshere. They throw the interest out with the editing.

I have just seen another thread about the red bull air racing.

    [QUOTE=Tartan Pics;1448970]Probably been posted before,but,interesting nonetheless…………

3.) Rats multiply so quickly that in 18 months, two rats could have over a million descendants.

Calling all genetasists (?) But would the rats be normal? i.e 5 legs instad of 4 or extra claws? Are rats unique in that they can interbreed without faults appearing?

Or is this the result of a bored statatition?
