Seeing as how Moggy had two goes at helping us to find the correct place to write our objections, the thought occures, is the form deliberately hard to find to make it hard to object?

I printed off the proposal and refered back to the parts which I thought were a bit weak to support the proposal.

I also mentioned the repair and maintenance of historic aircraft and that Duxford is a living memory to all those that made sacrifices so that I am able to write this without fear of reprisals.

Hold on whats that van doing outside its been parked there all night?

With so many of the wartime airfields being built on I believe we need Duxford and a few others so that future generations can see and imagine what war really means.
When its all built on there will be no stillness, no wind blowing across ,no chance to imagine the ghosts. I’ll shut up now.

I think that mentioning any incidences will be counter productive.

I have submitted my objection as well.
“The plan is reasonably flexible to enable it to deal with changing circumstances”
being of a suspicious nature could that mean ‘well if the MSA falls through we can build houses’?
Also is it part of a larger plan to close the airfield, retain the museums but there would be all that lovely airfield and across the A505 which would all be … well spare..hmmm what could be done with that?
Excuse me it is late and I must be seeing bogey men where there aren’t any.

“Once an insurgancy force has won the victory they become the counter insurgency against the break away group that does not agree and so on and so on” – Spokeshave.

I agree with pluto77189 the reason and the plan once victory is achieved is the important factor in deciding which you want to command.
There are examples probably to prove me wrong but It seems to me that the majority of insurgence forces today want to destroy completely the people they are fighting against. That is everyone, women children not just the particular military dictators /government.
The insurgence are not interested in getting to a position of strength to negotiate better conditions for their particular members they want complete removal of their enemy who is any one who does not have the same outlook on life.
There is no room for live and let live in their philosophy.
The best counter insurgency is to be honest and to be seen to be honest in all your dealings.
Unfortunately you will always have those who want to destroy and take power and who will stir the crowd up with any propogander they can manufacture. thats why you must be seen to honest.
But I am dreaming mankinds history is full of death and destruction all carried out in the name of freedom for you.
I bet your glad you asked now aren’t you?

Lukeylad is correct Hurn does have quite a variety of aircraft in.

The AN12 was parked on the north south runway being attended to.
I think the refueling bowser was there but cant be certain. There wee steps up to the door.

There was a time when an AN72 seemed to always be parked up but I havent seen that for ages.

There are regular visits from hercules 130’s one foreign owned the others are RAF.

The 747 is lovely. From my house you can here it coming with a unique whine and it looks so big and squat at the same time as is curves away.

Plus falcon 20’s from Flight Refueling and the 757’s? 737’s? of thomson fly.

I’ll go now my ignorance of commercial airliners is beginning to show.

I played one of the earlier versions where you had to knock out a nucliar missile fired from a sub. I failed, the bomb went off with a lovely explosion. Cant remember whether the game continued though.
I never could get the valkiri, I always ran out of map.
    Of course my sons did.

From some of the replies I have seen on these forums you got off lightly. It does get more sociable.

This is all very interesting but 1/ what effects to the enviroment will these sinkings have? Presumably all oil and fuel etc would have been removed.
2/ in a war situation these ships would have been manouvering and fighting back, would this have helped or just postponed the inevitable?
