I dont think we’ll lose the red arrows. They really are a crowd puller and I cant see them going. Look at how much support there has been for Jon Egging since the accident. This accident will not end the red arrows, they will carry on but right now they have lost a member of their crew and, just as Jon Egging’s family must grieve, so must the red arrows team too and thats something we must all respect rather than discussing their future. They will be back soon though.
I find the red arrows display wonderful. I could watch it time and time again and not get bored of the routine. I’ve done formation flying myself, infact, it was the most fun i’ve had since getting my licence. It made me think of the red arrows (and other display teams) doing their routines in much faster aircraft – the level of concentration and the skill of the pilots is incredible! Boring? Definitely not. The display is part of what I enjoy seeing, the other part is knowing how much skill they have to make it happen.
