The latest update suggests better lighting, speed restrictions etc to be introduced. For once I’d just like to see someone say that drivers should really drive to the road conditions and stop being stupid. You can implement as many ‘safety measures’ as you want, for as long as morons are driving accidents like this will happen.

I also would love to read the drivers statements. I bet they are somewhat laughable. I wonder how many people were ‘traumatised’ by their own stupidity, but will continue to blame others for it?

I’m not surprised this has happened really. They’re lucky no one has died. Drive to the road conditions is not something these people are aware of obviously.
I don’t think I can go on the road without seeing someone do something reckless nowadays. A lot of drivers just don’t pay attention, they get accustomed to their daily route and go on to ‘autopilot’ and don’t think about things that can happen out of the ordinary. Everyone should be made to resit their test every 5yrs or so. There’s a mentality that once you pass your driving test you forget everything you learn and just do whatever you want on the road; that’s fine, if you want to die or kill someone else.

That is a chilling read! Spatial disorientation catches out another pilot 🙁

Yeah, just read that 🙁 Tragic.
If the aircraft involved is the one I’ve seen in pictures so far, then it’s one I have photographed at Perranporth when I was based there.

Was reading about this not long ago, apparently still not found 🙁
Possibly Perranporth based? Where I used to be based before moving to MK.

I noticed a few contrails over my area that were not the usual routes! I then found out there was a Bombardier Sentinel or two flying around down Oxford way and so imagined it was that around here too. Perhaps down your way you had an AWACS?

It’s sad news to hear of his passing. Not many people around like that nowadays.
Most interviewers seem scared to ask the big and awkward questions nowadays.
