The situation is very clam. No one die. No shot have been fired. You can even take the photo with the tank.

the constitution, whcich is we try to build since Bloody Black May in 1992, is revoke. The military pormise to hand back the power to the poeple in the democracy way, I still doubt that, but we should wait and see.

Nothing cheerful at all, the problem still lies on how come a couple of battalions can be so effective and so easy in reining a country’s power. Considering that country with dozens of million people and all the pain taking procedure to create a people selected government, the people endorsed power can be gone I presence of a couple of obsolete Tanks and one or 2 battalions influenced by a general.

Hey, although none of business, just don’t feel comfortable

If Pinko is correct in his assessment then no more Su-30 or Gripen for the Thai Air Force… Only F-16s…. Or maybe F-15s if the can find the “poultry cash” for it…

    What do you think?

If they’re so frickin’ brilliant why don’t 95% of the world’s computers run on Chinese software and processors? Where’s the dealer where I can purchase a Chinese car (assuming anybody would want one)? Where’s the Chinese competitor to Boeing? What was the last world class item the Chinese DESIGNED? Any third world country can MAKE something if someone shows them how. The last CPU I bought that it mattered where it was made was made in COSTA RICA for God’s sake. I doubt they’ll be conquering the world anytime soon.

Don’t worry, mate, commercial product made by Chinese is NOT like military one, easy to find information for you. Or, you could input the word “ Godson 2E” to do a google, you would find more. As the vendor’s claim, the Chinese CPU is up to the early Intel P4 level and is going to release, some PC vendor like Lenovo is going to put it into their line of product.

    China’s BLX takes Godson-2 processor to 1GHz
New MIPS-based chip will enter production this year and will be cheaper than Pentium 4

China’s BLX IC Design Co. has produced a prototype version of its Godson-2 processor that runs at a clock speed of 1GHz.

“Technology-wise it’s a step forward,” said Eddie Zeng, the chief executive officer of BLX, in Beijing. Called Godson-2E, the new chip is currently in the early stages of manufacturing, and will enter mass production before the end of this year, he said.

While pricing has not been decided, the chip will not be expensive. “It should be cheaper than the Pentium 4,” Zeng said,

Like other chips in the Godson family, the Godson-2E was designed by the Chinese Academy of Science’s Institute of Computing Technology (ICT) and was produced using 90-nanometer process technology. Earlier versions of the Godson-2 chip were produced using a 180-nanometer process and ran at clock speeds up to 500MHz.

The numbers used to describe chip-production processes refer to the size of the smallest feature that can be created on a chip. Smaller numbers indicate a more advanced process. Moving to production with a more advanced process offers several advantages. It means the chip can be made smaller, which reduces per-unit production costs, and allows designers to produce chips that are faster and consume less power.

Unlike processors from Intel, Advanced Micro Devices, or Via Technologies, the Godson-2E is not based on the x86 instruction set. Instead, the chip uses a modified version of the MIPS instruction set that replaces proprietary instructions with ones developed by ICT. This means the Godson-2E cannot be used in PCs running Microsoft’s Windows XP operating system.

But that does not worry Zeng. “The Godson is not meant for traditional PCs,” he said, noting that efforts are underway to produce computing devices based on the Godson, including computers running the Linux operating system.

Yeah just like we allow China to sell all that pirated software and make humvees without a liscence huh?

I’d rather say it’s a bad reference to simply take the commercial issues like software pirate etc to illustrate one’s national defense need.

Who will be the judge, who will be the law enforcement? Who has the detailed account of whose fighter is pirate that of whose?

If the world is so commercialized, who need CIA, who need spyplane, re-con satellite , who need “fly prison” ?

The US currently is in the lead so it may appear less aggressive for “copycat” of other nation’s stuff, thanks to its “half of the world amount” military budget. However, if there were innovative concept for new weaponry, u think US will be stupid for the commercial world’s moral play to bundle itself to check, spy, steal the concept sort of thing?

    Don’t be naive.

Ok, I’d better don’t twist too long in this issue and withdraw from it because clearly, all points are there for check. If you like, let me phase the idea easy for you to take, should ROC observe their constitution ? if so, then, let’s shut up.

    My 2 cents

Domestic front: PLAAF invests zero into JF-17/FC-1 the whole project, it’s the 50: 50 project between PAF & CAC, that shows initially PLAAF maybe based on the same reason as SOC or PLAMC stated, they don’t want to add in a new inventory. However, when the fighter is ready, PLAAF for some profound reasons, decides to buy the fighter not only want to advertise for JF-17. Probably the upcoming WS-13 engine, local made avionics/Radar now make the plane at a price really attractive to the PLAAF. So the primary concern of PLAAF towards JF-17 is low cost so it can differentiate itself from J10 as much as it can. But this won’t happen soon especially the WS-13 engine yet to undergo certification stage. The capacity of CAC is also a concern, because it’s busy manufacturing J10 even J7G. So for CAC, they’d rather export the whole production line to Pakistan to brief up the production. The PLAAF is deemed to equip JF-17, only in a later stage.

Export front: JF-17 sure is a capable, cost effective fighter, otherwise, the PLAAF & PAF won’t equip despite they have J10/J8F and F-16 second hand fighters available respectively. Those who are already using CAC’s products could be potential customers of JF-17 as well. JF-17 can be cascaded to have western or Chinese equipments. Single engine powered, low price and low maintenance cost. Also less politically sensitive compared to export of J10.

The swift answer will be law is law and law above all, law makes us got peace of mind, however when law is changed ( Which in this topic, Taiwan amends its own constitution), then the situation would be changed, then it’s meaningful to talk your scenario. Other than that, it’s fancy talk.

Reading that, I can see which I think has been brainwashed, and it isn’t the people of the RoC  Nothing quite as enjoyable as a xenophobic rant against the Japanese eh? If the PRC is so peaceful why not just say to the RoC, make your own choice, independence or unification, rather than threatening annihilation if they have the audacity to think they should decide their own destiny?

Would you mind equip yourself a bit knowledge of some lawful facts in related to ROC/PRC identities issue before you jump into your groundless thus distractive conclusion? What’s in common between the 2 lawful entities of PRC and ROC is that both of these 2 states’ constitutions have clearly defined Taiwan is part of China’s territory, If you want a detailed account, the ROC’s defined territory includes today’s mainland China plus Taiwan & today’s Mongolia, while PRC’s defined territory is the same as ROC’s except the Mongolia. Could a partial of citizens in a country decide partial of that country’s territory without full nation’s endorse? Could you declare you are independent with your private land from your country because you own a piece of that land? Could Lincoln allow the southern states just go independent because the southern people “ make their own choice, independence or unification, rather than threatening annihilation if they have the audacity to think they should decide their own destiny? “ The most recent event happened in Canada, when one of its territory wants independent, it has to be undergone a nation wide poll, if such is the case, then, Taiwan wants independent, it’s fine, based on the ruling ROC constitution, it has to be undergone national wide poll, which includes not only Taiwan but also 1.3 billion population strong mainland china, which, 23 million people compare to 1300 million people, what answer you expect?!
