Anyway I have no clue why people focus on that T/W ratio. I find it very doubtfull that a combat occurs where this T/W ratio will be the decisive factor. I’d say both planes will sure have enough thrust compared to their weight and I’d leave it at that.

They focus on thrust to weight because they don’t have any in-depth knowledge in flight dynamics. There are several other important parameters which are never going to be official, drag figures and grade of instability to take a couple of example.

For deep strike and all wether attack, two seaters seem to rule. F-15E / I / K / S, F/A-18F (will also be used as a two seat fighter I guess), F-111, Mirage 2000D / N, Su-24, Su-37 and although retired, Bucanneer and A-6 Intruder.

Isn’t deep strikes at low altitude a thing of the past? I reckon the brits had a nice go in the beginning of Operation Desert storm but quickly changed their tactics. There’s plenty of small agile air to air missiles on the market today – and that’s why I think that CAS/COIN or whatever will be a no-show in the future.

Or perhaps CAS/COIN will be a job for the UCAVs, operated by troups on the ground close to the line of fire.

Eurocopter is on a winner with this design, not only in the four original partner countries, but now Australia, New Zealand and Spain!

You could add Finland, Norway and Sweden as well to that list Ja. But I agree on it being a success.
