For those of you that haven’t viewed the thread yet and want to catch up (it does have 500+ posts after all) I have created an archive of what Gary has done to date (as of Dec. 25). It’s also good for those that want to review the progress on Diamond Lil. Check it out at:

Hi folks, just remember one thing. These forums (FP, **edited – this is still not the place to discuss other forums – Flood**) are primarily here for one reason… to bring people with a passion for aviation together to meet other like minded people. Realistically you would never meet half the people you have on the forums even if you spent a lifetime of museum tours and airshows. We are a community, and in any community you have differing opinions and arguements. These can quickly get out of hand, especially with the 1 dimensional communications afforded by a text based medium. There is no body language or facial expressions to temper the tone of the conversation . We all need to take a moment before responding emotionally to a post. We are all friends here. We have a common interest in aviation. I derive enjoyment from finally being able to interact with other aviation nuts and I find the knowledge that I’m not alone in my passion to be very comforting. Our primary purpose should be to support each other and not rip into each other because they have a differing opinion. So lets all strive to just get along. 🙂

This is a general response and not directed specifically at Mr. Clark:

One of the problems with running forums such as this is balancing freedom of speech with censorship. Visitors should feel free to post thier opinions without fear of deletion or banning. Granted this can be abused and on the **edited** forum a policy of no personal attacks is in place and unfortunately enforced on several occasions. The core problem is who decides what is right and what is wrong? Alot of people are offended by Nazi discussions, should we ban them all, including those relating to the Luftwaffe? Where does it end? It doesn’t, you can’t please all the people all the time. If you are offended by material on the forums then don’t frequent them. Start your own forum, its relatively easy and a basic forum is not too expensive. You can enforce whatever rules you want on your own forum. However, if you come to a public forum you run the risk of being offended. This risk is no different than when you ride public transportation or walk through a mall. You will hear offensive language or actions. Do we find a police officer and say “That person said the F word?” no, we tune it out. We all need to learn tolerance. Ignore those individuals that annoy or offend you. Without feedback they typically get bored and go away.

There was a place where everything was clean and safe and non-offensive. Luckily they surrendered in 1945.

Get a dog. Drown the cat. Problem solved.

But seriously, I get mad at my dog sometimes and I know he doesn’t understand why and I feel bad, so I understand completely how you feel.

My first one, at least as far as I can remember was a P-3C Orion, the closest thing the EP-3 that my father was flying on at the time.

Well… a Stuka sure would steal the show anywhere it goes. I know it is a big complicated airplane/aeroplane but hey… that would be my resquest for someone to build!!

    Blue Skies, Dan

A Stuka would be my choice as well, maybe make a Ju 97D with attachment points for the 37mm to change it to a G if you wanted. Would be amazing to see and hear a Stuka diving on an airshow. Too cool

    Hi Scott,
It’s been brought to my attention that some people have misunderstood my post about ‘getting back what you ask for’. First off I’d like to count CM and yourselves as friends, even (especially) when we don’t agree! 😀

I of course consider you a friend as well and I’m sorry if post seemed overly critical. I learned awhile ago to not take things personally in regards to online forums and e-mail.

I created the WIX forum as an international community to bring us all together to discuss a subject we all love. I don’t care if your British, American, Canadian, Japanese, or whatever, if you like warbirds then WIX has a place for you. If you have an opinion your welcome to express it. As long as you don’t commit a personal attack then your welcome to post. If you don’t like someones opinion then either discuss it or ignore it.

I’m going to stop now… end rant.

    *Sigh*
Finally, CM ‘left’ (for the second time) because he chose to take his toys and sulk. No one was forced out. He made some wild accusations told people how they should do things, and got the response he asked for.

I find it interesting that CM is being critisized for doing something that some former WIX member have done. I just recieved an e-mail from a soon to be former member of WIX requesting his posts and profile be removed.

I think we all need to grow up a little and realize that people have thier own opinions and one of the things that make forums like Flypast and WIX great is the ability to air your opinion and hear others that might differ from yours. If you want to hear your own opinion spoken back at you then find a mirror. We are all different and we all deserve to have our opinions respected, even if you don’t agree with it.

As for the WIX forum being American centric or Flypast being anti-american then I think people need to quit whining and work at changing the situation. If you want to see more UK-centered topics then post about UK topics. I don’t know about Flypast but on the WIX board the people who complain the most are the ones that post the least. And some, instead of working to improve the base of information in the forum chose to go elsewhere.

Now you are entitled to do what you will, both the UK and the USA are free countries, but I’m getting tired of people who spend all thier time complaining about a problem and make no effort to solve it.

This is just my personal opinion.
