Interesting!
A few noteworthy points:
1) If gripen is out because it’s radar is not mature enough, I wonder how they assessed the eurofighter radar
2) If F-18 is out because of its engines, I guess gripen should be too?
cool IR-camera capture of F-22’s flying display:

To me, the extraordinary thing here is that anyone even mentioned Selex. What relevance does Selex & its capabilities have to modes in Rafale’s Thales radar?
The extraordinary thing is that people are dicussing a non-issue like wheter or not RBE2 can do ISAR. It’s about implementing an algorithm.
Actually CPFH includes everything, but SwAF uses conscripts,
where other forces uses technicians/paid labour, hence the differences $3000 -$5000
This is not to be forgotten when taking Gripens low cost per flight hour from Swedish airfoce into consideration.
I don’t understand the fuss about Bragg Cell recievers. They are a legacy analog reciever used by many ECM suites and are being phased out in favour for digital recievers. A prime example of an ECM suite that are phasing them out is Spectra which is set to become all digital in the next(?) iteration.
Well, I think most of them (gripen, f-22, eurofighter, rafale) source from hexcel

They are not in the same plane
Update: or where you talking about the Yakolev concept? It is in the same plane there.

IMHO the trend is to have shared arperutes for sensors, I think read that thats on Thales roadmap aswell.
Found this on SAABs website.
I very much doubt you found it on SAAB’s webpage. It’s basically a university project with slight input from SAAB / FMV.
Anyhow, the URL for the project is http://www.iei.liu.se/flumes/aero/gff?l=en if you want to read more about it.
Here is another view:
Interesting air-intakes on the one with canards.
Any more info (if you have any) on these special Bragg Cells and their EW applications would be much appreciated.

Hoppefully news are good for this deal as well as upgrades for the 5th batch for the AdA with the funding of a stealth rafale demonstrator + spectar and RBE2 upgrades.
Are there any details how such a stealth rafale demonstrator would look like? Something like the F-15 Silent Eagle perhaps?
Yeah well, I think however you look at it, the chanche of this ending up in SAAB/Boeings favour is pretty much non-existant unless Dassault or Sarkozy&Co manages to f*ck something up radically.
That said I think its quite weird that the announcment gets pushed forward all the time
Those are not estimated in the study though. Only B-2 and F-117 is analyzed. But yeah, you are right, the b2/f-117 values might be totally of aswell. Their geometric models does not look super precise, so there might be a large margign of error there too. And whether or not their mathematical model for estimating RCS is correct, I have no clue. Just stumpled upon it by chanche when i was googling for info about f-117
