The G-91s were used in Guinea Bissau as COIN fighters. There seem to have been some engagements with Guinean (Conakry) or Nigerian Mig-17s, which supported the local rebels, but unfortunately no more details about these are known. It is also possible that G-91s flew some combat sorties against RENAMO and UNITA guerillas when they were in service with the airforces of Angola and Mozambique shortly after independence.
Very interesting, do you know why this one has a kill mark?
shindand march 2006 – nice to see a su-22M3! 😀
Actually this one seems to have been captured from the Taliban in 2001.
According to some source there were fights between Ugandan and Tanzanian Mig-21MFs, at least the Tanzanian ones sometimes returned without their Atoll missiles. During the Chinese civil war both sides operated P-51Ds though I don’t know of any a2a combat.
Indeed very disappointing… 😡
Does someone still have the pic of the Turkmen T-72 that was posted in the small armies thread?
Thanks flex those are great 😀

I think it’s Uzbek you can recognize the blue outer part of the UZbek roundel.
The same applies to every country on earth. Even the what we regard as western states, many of which face no strategic threat at all, and yet deploy far more expensive weapons systems, every country has within it situations that could be improved, yet just becouse a state is poor relative to another it does not mean it does not have the right to buy weapons.
Of course Bangladesh has the right to have an army and to purchase weapons but that doesn’t change the fact that this procurement is just absolutely senseless. They already have several F-7s to control their airspace. The biggest threat to the Bangladesh military aren’t intruding enemy fighter jets but drug addicted child soldiers somewhere in Congo.
for air defence what else?
Air defence? Defence against what? India?
Bangladesh should rather consider buying Mi-24s and Mi-17s to support their UN operations. What do they need F-7s for?
AFAIK the Afghan air force should still possess one operational Mig-21bis.
They also had one Mig-21UM but I think this one crashed in 2003 or so.
Did you ever see some operational Afghan Mig-21s?
