to name a few others:
Honduras vs Nicaragua: P-38, T-6, A-26
CIA vs Cuba: A-36
Honduras vs El Salvador: Corsair, A-26
Costa Rica vs Nicaragua: F-51
Mali vs Burkina Faso: MiG-17
Uganda vs Tanzania: MiG-21
Angola vs Congo Brazzaville: MiG-21
Angola + Zimbabe vs Uganda in the DRC: MiG-21, F-7
DRC vs Katanga: T-6
Peru vs Ecuador: A-37
Cambodia vs Vietnam: F-6 (perhaps don’t know whether Vietnam still had them)
During the Mid-East wars/skirmishes, Spitfires, Gloster Meteors, T-6s
China vs Taiwan, difficult to say, perhaps F-51s, F-47s or even ex-Japanese aircraft
This is an East German MiG-21. It was used as instructional airframe, that’s probably the reason for the strange camo. Details can be found at Holger Müller’s great site:
http://www.mig-21.de/ddrverbleib.htm
that’s what it looks like today

Just noticed you can see a Trabbi at the left 😀 (a crappy East German cult car)
Something I’d love to see is a 1960s Luftwaffe equipped with those indigenous aircraft of the developing world which were almost entirely designed by WW2 German engineers like Messerschmitt.
training/close air support: 200 Ha-200
Light fighter: 150 Pulqui 2
Medium fighter/interceptor: 250 Helwan HA-300
heavy fighter-bomber 150 HAL Marut
+ 30 double seater Maruts, specially adapted for the nuclear strike role
transport: 50 IA-38 Naranjero
I’d like to have a Junkers Ju-287 updated dozens of times (Nimrod-like) with new engines state of the art electronics etc doing some recce sorties over Afghanistan or patrolling the seas of Somalia 😀
Decembers AFM had a lovely pic of a Chadian SU-25 in it. Ive searched as many links as is proberly humanly possible, But someone somewhere, does have a his res image of it:eek:
BTW, the Frogfoot sports a new, amended version of the national markings:)
Please tell us, how does it look like? What’s the camouflage like?

As far as I know the complete Ivorian Air Force was destroyed by the French,so I assume that includes all 4 Su-25s
Several aircraft and helicopters survived, including some Mi-24s (ex-Bulgarian Mi-24Ds) an UAV, at least one Strikemaster and if I remember correctly at least one Su-25K.
Arte once aired a fantastic documentary called “The new mercenaries” with footage of Ivorian Hinds, including not only in action gun camera shots but also in flight footage of the single Ivorian Mi-24P. Unfortunately I lost the recording.
Edit: Just found out, you can download it in high quality unfortunately it costs 5,99 Eur. Perhaps everyone of us could pay some 50 Cents? 😀

Most of people here may agree with me that they’ve been keeping their fighter jets fueled and flying by immense sums of money generated from a huge influx of South korean tourists flocking to the Mountain Kum-Kang to enjoy the scenery annually.
Don’t forget drug trafficking, money laundering and missile exports 😉
A very interesting picture! So their Sukhois are painted medium grey and green, don’t have serials and some have those gibberish placards on them. I am convinced their Mig-29s look the same.

I just uploaded a video of the incident

Pretty funny, I used FANCI (Forces Armées Nationales de Côte d’Ivoire) as tag and now it is related to dozens of “fancy” videos 😀

Wow an Ivorian Su-25! In what numbers do they operate this aircraft?
Theybought two Su-25K single seaters and two Su-25UBK double seaters. The double seaters were heavily damaged by the French using ATGM after they had bombed a French base in 2004 killing nine soldiers. Look at gettyimages.com and search for Sukhoi Ivory Coast, there are several pictures of the two damaged ones. Unfortunately I don’t know whether they have been made flyable again.
