Just a shame that the Reporting Scotland 5 second clip to announce the iminent start of Prestwick-Stornoway services this lunchtime was of a (landor liveried) BA ATP… Jackie never batted an eyelid (but then, she probably didn’t notice the difference…. does anyone have Terry Wogan’s phonenumber at PoV? ;))
or who’s to say they won’t replace the 737’s with ERJ190-x’s instead? 😉

Sad to see one of the last pax service MD11 in europe to go away.
Does someone know were those are going? FedEx?
If I remember correctly, this one is going to Varig.
(the reason being, LH Cargo want the GE powered MD’s, LX’ ones were PW powered, so LH pulled weight within Star over RG, who took on the ex-LX PW ones to replace their own GE ones which went for Cargo conversion to LH)

nah, the flight was AZ262, which is the 9:40pm arrival at MAN, the first flight (Malta-MXP) was on the 28th, so unless he had a 25 hour layover in Milan, it was two days ago…
exactly who would be flying at under 1400 feet over London unless they were going into/out of LCY, anyway?

It does also say on the Nigerian website that the new airline wouldn’t affect VS’ existing services, or their Nigerian based staff, so I can’t see either of those suggestions being taken up (although I suppose Virgin Nigeria could codeshare on the existing VS’ flights, depending on current payloads…)

That’s the Dash8 I was on in May when I stopped by Hampden for the Cup Final.

I can’t see Virgin Nigeria operating Lagos-LHR when Virgin Atlantic already operate the route…
