self check-in? it’s a touchscreen that asks you questions like where would you like to sit, and you touch the seat you want on the screen.
easyJet have a wee demo on their site if you want to look…
http://easyjet.com/EN/Flying/leapcheckinpreview.html
(obviously, the demo being easyJet, it dosen’t ask about what seat you want ;))
You know those wee flags that are EVERYWHERE poking out of Car windows? well some Pilots were obviously not wanting to be left out, as modeled by this Air Berlin 737.

Everyone’s seen those Pele Puma ads? dba are involved in that, too, as demonstrated by F100 D-AGPD and 737-300 D-AGEB:

I was a bit surprised to see that the BA 319 had docked at the same Gate that easyJet had used the previous day, and that, in fact, we were to use later on, too. Note again another of those Flags.

Next to arrive was Germanwings A319 D-AKNU

And then, the pièce de resistance, Pulkovo Tu-154M RA-85836

the Lufty Regional CRJ from earlier was soon on it’s take off roll

before Air Berlin A319 D-ABGD arrived.

A Lufthansa A300 was next in, unfortunately I didn’t get it’s Registration. 🙁

Then, with a 25 minute delay, our Aircraft for the return flight (EZS1026), HB-JZM arrived. the delay was attributed by the flight deck to it being the 1st of July and the first day of the Holidays, so congestion had been inevitable all day (It was a scheduled 18:35 departure).

While we were waiting at the gate, another BA flight arrived, this time 757 G-BPEE, which docked at the gate beside us.

After another uneventful flight back, I was left just wondering one thing…

When did easyJet stop serving slimline Tonic? 😉
Back home at BSL, while walking back to the Terminal, I managed to squeeze off one last shot, Lufthansa Regional ATR72 D-ANFJ

you still have them cached, then.
gd, when G-BIKB left the BA fleet for DHL in July 02, it still had it’s original Rolls-Royce RB211-535C-37 engines. BA’s latter 757’s (delivered 1990 onwards) had RB211-535E4-37 engines. BA’s TriStar -385’s had RB211-22B-02 engines, while the -500’s that went to the RAF as Tankers had RB211-524B-02’s.
So while they may look like Tristar engines, they’re still based on the same core engine, although were never the same model.
Incidentally, talking of RB211’s in the BA fleet, the 747-400’s use RB211-524G2-19’s, and the 767-300’s use RB211-524H-36’s.

ok, I’ve gone through a folder of FF statements, and came across a letter dated 10 November 97. I might have mixed a few things up myself, and it was Cathay, not Singapore as the Asian partner (although that must have come later, can’t confirm details)

My, what nirvana they promised… and you’d think they could have laid that out a bit better, and did they really have to bold every semi colon?
Can’t find anything else in the Folder, but I’m sure I’ve still got the old handbook somewhere, which should list all the partners.
with regards to Tui and 737NGs
Hapagfly have planty of wingletted 737-800’s, ao why would they want to replace those, they’re realtively new… So the likelyhood is surely more of the same, for easy interchange between the group?
No replacements lined up for the 747-400’s?
gd, think you’ve mixed a couple of things up there…
About 15 years ago, when Swissair first started alliances, I think they promoted something they called Global Excellence, which comprised Swissair, Austrian Airlines, Delta and Singapore Airlines. There was talk back then of KLM being the next to join, but then they went off with Northwest, and the two remaining european airlines fell out, as their targets were at opposite ends of the scale (back then, OS only had two long haul routes, Tokyo (via Moscow) and New York (operated by their long haul fleet of two A310s), while Swissair had a reasonably sized long haul network served by 5 A310s on the medium to long haul network, 2 747-300’s and 3 747-300M’s, and around 12 DC-10-30’s).
Austrian went off by itself, starting flights behind the newly opened Iron Curtain, ultimately buying Lauda, thereby inheriting it’s longhaul network, while Swissair went off and bought Sabena, which, ultimately, may have been what finished it off at the end of the day, by tieing up their cash reserves.
What bmi-star lists there is what Swissair had assembled at the time it collapsed.
I’ll see if I can find any more details in the attic.
Is this just an XL slating thread, then?
aye, but I don’t have the time to resize them all again (they were originally 2560×1920) (and then upload them individually)
Isn’t that just typical of MOL… have a swipe at BA for 35 quid supplements, then say they’re not actually giving away free flights, as there’s a supplementary charge excluded (plus Tax, obviously…)
Pot and kettle come to mind…
As it was holding short, easyJet Switzerland A319 HB-JZH came in

Swiss are getting rid of their ERJ145s, and one of those awaiting it’s new owners is HB-JAX, which will shortly become XA-QLI of AeroLitoral, seen returning from an acceptance flight

After both those arrivals, The Air France Embraer set off.

Another Air France Régional Embraer (a 145 this time), F-GUBA headed out next

easyJet Switzerland A319 HB-JZL was the next aircraft to taxi out

As it held short, Lufthansa Regional (operated by Contact Air) ATR72 D-ANFL came in

And finally, Zulu Lima lined itself up.

Hope youse enjoyed that selection.
I’m having déjà-vu now with this thread… http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?t=34963&page=3&pp=30
yes, still trying to work out how alpine scenery promotes shopping at Unique. Or maybe they’re trying to say it is unique…
Not a chance Air France would use an aircraft that size to anywhere but Paris, and I can’t see BA getting 318’s to operate out of LCY… not if it would take custom away from Heathrow.
Maybe the idea is for 319CJ’s to be able to drop intercontinental pax off near the financial district, then ferry to, say, Farnborough until time to pick the pax up?
