    Yep ,

    One think that I forgot : mileage program : a shame!!

    You can NEVER get the flight you want because of embargo dates.
    I have some other cards with UA , BA and KL : no problem.

    Well , Geforce , I guess you got a good one !

    I’m french ( don’t live in my own sh ….) and since I have experienced AF for years , maybe I’ll try to add some information.

    Food : as bad as any other airline on coach ( a matter of cost)

    Crew : That’s a lottery : the point is that there is no excellence criteria on AF as they have on Singapour Airlines or Thai. Maybe this crew wasn’t AF ????

    Lack of organization : typically french !!!

    Wake up : Some AF speciality : I don’t know why ????

    Chauvenistic : True!!! but I don’t remember of French only program on AF. Euhh by the way do you have french programs on BA or AA?

    In order to be objective , I’d say that AF is middle of the road . Not good , not bad.

    Except for one Thing : STRIKES !!!!!

    i have been stuck so many time away from home on Friday night on business trip that I have decided to ban AF when possible.

    What a nightmare !!! Unfortunately I’m affraid that it could happen on any airline.
    Most of the inconvenience that you have experienced are due to people and not an airline.

    Anyway , I agree one feel much better after telling this

    Yes Ben ,

    I remember this. It was a flight from AMS to Narita.
    I was in Tokyo at this time waiting for this plane to flight back home.

    We were informed that our flight was delayed beacause of a late flight.
    When we saw the people arriving , it was obvious that something bad happened. Speaking with some passenger it seems that they flew through volcano ashes above alaska and the 4 engines died.

    As far as I remember , they loss 9000 feet before the captain was able to start the engine on again.

    No need to tell that our flight was delayed again for engine inspection at Narita. I was glad to be on the ground this day

    Kind of easy . Sea sickness is due to a problem in the internal ear.
    Your brain isn’t able to match what you see and what you feel.
    That’s a balance issue.
    What you see in a plane is different and the frequency of the oscillations is rather different too.

    A good trick to fight sea sick: use a walkman or get …… drunk!

    I got a weird experience at Strasbourg airport a few years ago.
    At this time the runway was shared with the AIRforce base nearby.
    We were waiting the clearance for takeoff and the jet before us was………… 2 Mirage 2000 !!! They took off all together and I can say that military jet don’t give a sh… about noise: it was hell!!

    My best memory about landing was flying from ORY to BST. It was a stormy day (100 mph of wind) the runway was short and bumpy and the pilot made 2 attempts to land. Everyone was throwing up : it was surrealist.

    Since that day that have made the runway longer and installed an ILS

    Thanks for your answer.

    I guess that you forgot Snecma with their CFM56.
    Snecma manufactures engines under GE license.

    From my point of view RR and GE are the bests
