You’re right. The stabilizer are not horizontal at all.

This stuff (Mercure) really looks like a B737-200 isn’t it?

    RE: Alliances

    Well ,
I’m member of both SkyTeam and Star.
On flight service is quite similar.

I have to fly to LAX or SFO roughly 5 or 6 times a year and I have chosen Star for 2 main reasons:

    – Mileage prgram is much more flexible. AF has embargos when you want
to get a free ticket and it’s a drag to find a date.
United is very flexible and I never had any problem with them.

    – STRIKES !!!!! As you know , strikes are a national sport in our country and I have been stuck so many with AF that I have definitely chosen UA.

I just made an exeption on last Feb flying Delta since I got free tickets from a family member.

    I guess that’s a bit confusing.

As afr as I know , banned doesn’t mean that those types (DC10 , 727 etc)) can’t use these airports anymore.
It just means that they will have to pay extra fees.

    Well ,

We have already replier to a similar survey on last week with the tri-jets.

Mine are definitely DC10 -MD11 types.

After comes A330 definitely the most elegant.
    Then Concorde .
    B777 is a great stuff.
    L1011
    MD80 series

    I agree with Keltic.

Confort is a matter of legroom , layout , noise and …… crew members.

    ‘Jets 5 seconds from disaster’-Gatwick near-miss.

Yep , I have experienced something similar flying back from ATL on a Delta MD11 early Feb.
We were about to land at CDG when the captain set the thurst.
We got a free ride around beautiful Paris and the captain made a statement to tell that the runway was not clear.
I guess we were higher than 100 feet maybe 300.
I’m afraid that’s a rather common situation since the jets are very close to eachother during take-off and landing phase.

RE: UK Airports ignore ban on noisy jets

    Benair ,

    That’s a good question indeed.
I’m living right on the edge of ORY . My house is located right between the path of the 2 runways , and therefore not under the planes trajectories. When I bought it , I knew that and it was fine.

The problem gets a bit more complicated when the ATC changes the rules.
That is what they did in South of Paris a month ago. Many people now are under the route to and from ORY and they are pissed.

As you may see the problem is not that simple.

When they made CDG , it was in the middle of nowhere. Since an airport is a goldmine in term of job opportunities , it attracts a lot
of peoples , they build their houses around , and the airport 20 years after is in the middle of the city !!!!!!

    Amazing!!!
