    RE: How many have gone?

    This is not totaly accurate.

Air Liberte and AOM merged in 1999. The new airline ( AirLiberte)
filed for bankrupcy on last year after Swissair fiasco which never
    transferred the promissed 400M$.

A new airline has been created from the ashes with anew name (Airlib)
and a new color scheme. They are still flying (so far) .

    Hmmmm!

I don’t think that KLM will choose any Airbus since they are Operating boeing’s for years.

    Wait and see…..

    RE: How safe is Cubana?

Well , I never flew Cubana (fortunately).

however if you’re flying an AOM DC10-30, is it a wet lease or so ?

If the plane is still owned by Airlib (Ex AOM) they are maintained by Air France. I can tell since they are parked just near my back yard !

Therefore , I don’t think that the jet itself might be an issue.
ATC in Cuba is certainly an other story !!!

    I’m from Orly near Paris.

I’m pretty lucky since I can watch the planes taking off and landing without the noise.

    RE: Ryanair? No chance!

    I partly agree.

I flew Ryanair between PAris and Dublin : they are by far the cheapest.
But they serve a small airport far away North of Paris (not CDG).

I agree too when you say that so caleed low fare are sometime more expensive than scheduled airlines.

Each time I flight to LAX (2 or 3 times a year) UA, DL or AF are the best fare.

    RE: KLM

I don’t mean that KLM is better than BA . I flew BA to Japan too.
Service was OK legroom in coach OK too (I’m 1.92m) .

I mean my only concern as a French traveller was the connection at Heathrow. AMS is much more convenient than the big mess in Heathrow.

    RE: Security

All the flights I was refering were international. I don’t consider Marocco and Italia as third world!!!

I guess that your idea of a CE label is good but ….. how would they implement the controls ????????? and how fair would be the go/nogo proccess ????
