Below are a couple of shots of the Mk.1 nose prior to restoration….

….as is obvious a lot of hard work just in the restoration of the nose , well done.

Great shots Mike. I was there a couple of weeks ago but couldn’t time it right for the show. One question. Whose P-51 is it in the first batch of photos? It almost looks like a Reno Racer in that colour scheme.
Check here..
Are these of any use ?

Looking good. A question re the old spars, Are they of any use to a museum for static use? It seems a waste if they are just scapped.
The last I heard, AR213 will be in dark earth/dark green/sky when the paint is finished. Since the wings were painted last year, the decision has been made to change away from the later scheme, more’s the pity… I know that Tom lobbied extensively for the “bounce” scheme, but it was not to be.
In this picture on another thread the painted parts of G-AIST look grey/dark green not dark earth/dark green.

Finally – I think seeing a formation of 2-seat Spitfires at Flying Legends is about as likely as seeing a formation of 2-seat Hurricanes.
Never say never, they had an F.15 this year.
I was fortunate that during the build up to filming, I was working at Saffron Walden so I managed to have my extended lunch breaks at Duxford which enabled me to get a few shots of some participants. A few featured below, these were posted elsewhere on this forum some time ago, sorry for the repeat.

This might be helpful..
The way the Lightning is displayed really puts me in mind of the first time I saw a Lightning displa at Biggin Hill when at the start of the pilot went into a vertical climb..

I used my Olympus Camedia C-740 just set on auto, so easy to use and it seems to react better to the light indoors than my Cannon D.300.
