BTW, I think the new canopy designs for the A and C variants definately help with the looks department.

Now if they can only swap that idiotic, ugly-as-hell Hill Gray scheme and opt for a more Compass Ghost one, then we’d be talking!

Why only fast? Actually, the M2Ks best bet would be to put in a sharp turn utilizing its better instantaneous TR and off boresight capabilities of both Magic2s and Mica IRs. Even if the fight ends up slow, [that’s slow, not low!;-) ] the M2K has a better chance then the F-16 in the high AoA fight.

BTW, regarding the Fox, I’d appreciate it if you guys had a high-res image of the 340 patch. A fox’s head whatever you do with it, is bound to look like a wolf once you make it subdued in Aegean Ghost colours…Besides, when you depict a fox, it’s cooler if there is some sneakyness involved!;-)

Aha! I’d love to see that bird!

In the meantime, I incorporated your suggestions regarding the Aces and am quite happy with the result.

    Here it is…

I’ll work on the fox later…

    @Philipp

“136” has a unique colour tail art and was photographed with is during the 15 years ceremony 2 weeks ago in Larissa… It seems to be removable and I;m not sure if it still carries it or if it ever flew with it at all… No photo has come out, …yet;)

George has done a great job of creating bacgrounds, go here:

and I think you’ll find some good ideas…

    @ Stromeagle

RHAF F-84G’s in many colour variations.

Fantasma-which is that Argo/ Falcon scheme you are reffering to? Never seen that-any pictures?

346, 347 and 339 tailflashes were rather dissapointing and uncreative compared to the stunning 330 one.

Regarding the ones proposed above, yes, I realize 341sq have their red and black checker band, but I find a low-vis, larger and more creative paintjob to be more appealing and unique. I’m not happy with that “arrow”, but every variation on the Aces 4 theme I tried made me go overboard when i think it suits the HAFs philosophy for the designs to be simple.

Anyway-is 334 squadron finally receiving Blk52+s? That’s an emblem theme I could do a lot with!;-)

Can we classify the DPRKAF as “small”?? Pretty please?;-) I’d love to see some shots of their equipment!

If only the national insignia could be moved or removed from the vertical stabilizer, then I could really get to work!;-)

    hehe scramble maybe?

Alepou, the fox art is actually the least appealing to me-it’s a good theme and could be done better.

Of course all of these were rough examples. I intend to work on them more and give them a more photorealistic appearance. Then, I intend to send them to appropriate venues in the HAF;-)

Fantasma, while the Israeli government has done some pretty horrible things in the past, and while I used to sympathize a lot with Palestinians for having been driven out of their homes, there’s something about the last three years that has given me a new perspective when looking at Islamic extremism. We (the west) used to see it under its disguise as a secular socialist revolutionary movement but I think it’s pretty evident to everyone now of what it is.

There is blame and shame to Israel for making Palestinians live under these conditions, conditions which help the spread of terrorism, there is blame and shame in the west for allowing it to go on, but surely you’ll agree when you don’t see South Americans, coming from societies that are in shambles, use the pretext of Christianity to blow innocent people up…

So there’s obviously something else that’s wrong over there….

Thank Bring it on…I’ll try finding those studies! (email is h_philipp@fw-190.com BTW)

The JSF is probably the a/c I know less about so I guess a lot of the opinions I have expressed thusfar may be subject to change.

Regarding the F-35C…For one thing, I was puzzled that the Navy would opt for a single engined platform. Furthermore,I have not seeing all its HP configurations but I would imagine that a single engined aircraft, with that much wing area and loaded to the max won’t be the most maneuvarable fighter out there. The bigger problem is that the NAVY can’t make up for these deficiencies with an F/A-22, since they got that other, bigger, slower, and once more, strike optimized F/A-18.

I have to admit that I am basing most of assesment whilehaving China in the back of my mind. The SH/JSF combo may work well for the more imminent types of conflicts the US might fight, but further down the road, the only aircraft in the US arsenal to remain current and still dominant, will be the F/A-22.

I don’t know the F-35s relative RCS in comparison with say an F-16, but loaded with external stores, which is the most likely config, they’ll hardly be able to function as “penetrators” or first strike aircraft since they lack that degree of stealth. They’ll just be more survivable in engagements (which of course is also important). So, what will the capabilities of a carrier strike group really be in the future?Especially without B-2 CONUS support, or USAF expeditionary wings deploying in the area of operations.

Reggarding the F-35A. I think the USAF has to think of it as a gap filler, or post-air superiority striker. I think they should buy less and focus more on programs like the FB-22. The “workhorse” mentality is good, but its place is being relegated to a more specific phase of future conflicts. A strong, low observable, striking force, with adequate numbers can achieve much much more, and really help a/c like the F-35 find their true role.

China-fanatic that a nice and pleasant thought but that’s not what it comes down to. It’s how much does Greece value Cyprus, how much does the EU value Greece, etc etc…
