SOC, I AGREE with your opinion, For that purpose they have legitimate reason, but Indian Government’s concern was not limited to only that, they mentionad other reasons also.
The reliability of Pakistani missiles is in doubt because they require constant external help for upkeep. There is little evidence that Pakistan has the ability to build a small enough n-warhead to fit into the their Chinese-sourced missiles like the Shaheen-I and II. They probably have a warhead for the Ghauri, which North korea made just to fit a big, crude fission warhead. but the Ghauri has been having issues since the N.Korea link was cutoff due to US pressure.
For an aircraft based n-platform, do you think a Mirage-III has a better chance of pentrating enemy air defenses or an F-16?
Clever tactics, shows the experience this boy has earned from constant flaming, after stirring up trouble by giving his “expert” opinion about a newer engine, He moves to Pak economy to continue the flame, after being answered there, we discover that (before any credible news source) Pakistan’s missiles are not reliable and certain missiles cannot carry Nuke Warheads (infact I remember there was a piece of news in which it was mentioned that it was the Indian missiles which had similar problem!), Golden Arrow, You can certainly post credible data to back up your not so credible posts in Missiles forums rather than “PAF NEWS and SPECULATION” thread. Atleast follow a basic rule of the forum.
Guys just a question, few weeks ago there was a report saying LCA had performed manouevers in range of ~3-4 Gs, any updates when more extreme moanouvres will be conducted/have been conducted?
Shafagh doesnt looks stealth to me..and I dont think it is.
Netcentric, provide sources for this statement:
“it also took about 6 to 7 direct hits and hundreds of misses to bring down the Mi-17 as well. I think these kills were credited to Stingers.”
As for Kargil, that is off-topic and has been discussed down to flames everytime, so kindly stick to the topic before the thin ice breaks.
Also WB reports are usually lagging, they gather alot alot of data by themselves and from research already done by private firms, so by the time thier things come out, ppl usually know it for months before.
You – talking about credibility?
Yea we know you’re more credible since you got ppl inside FBI, CIA, Congress or whatever you call “Congressional Circles” lol! So Star49 dont argue with him, else he’ll have to ask his sources to declassify CIA documents to prove you wrong..see he got sources, you’re doomed..oOoO
You’ll be surprised to hear about how “good” the relationship between Turkey and the Arab world is already. The Turks find it hard to forget what the Arabs did them in the early 20th century.
But still, you’re quite right.
The best way to go (though not the easiest) will be to leave Turkey out of this.
Well, Arabs forgot what Turks did to them for 400 years before that, so its all fairing out, People on the street as a whole see America/Israel as the common enemy, whatever the political stance of the governments be.
Since Americans actually actively acted to promote extremism against Soveits, the dirty foriegn policy showed its result on Sept 11…but the new policy as it turned out has spread more extremism and violence then before, Iraqi casualties already crossed 100,000, American casualties crossed 1,500 today.
Anway best bet for Americans/Israel is to knockout the government and the nuke reactors in similar time frame, else Iran is going to be an enemy right in the stretagic location US will never want.
and Iranians have made it clear that they’ll attack anyone who they think directly helped US/Israel carry out the attacks, so the best bet would be the subs and long range stealth bombers. Nobody wants to risk a Shahab…their is no system that provides 100% safety agianst it.
The situation is not comparable to Osirak attack in anyway, Iranians are aware this will happen, they knew since day 1 if they actually plan to make a nuke, so they made reactors far apart, in difficult to strike locations, they know the name of the game, and are waiting for “opponents” turn.
Adding to what firebar said, F22 would have better chances in close combat against Russia’s new generation fighters, which would all be very manouverable…that includes the PAK-FA…
And these woul be the kind of Fighter F-22 would likely face, not that they’re going to war against Russians, but to other countries where Russians will sell things with good price and little or no politics.
any info on which UAV?
They should cut down on the funds opposing forces fight from i.e. Heroin.
The strange part that Lockheed will close lines. Does it men PAK will get new build planes? I thought it was a stop gap plane. And how on earth will it be armed with BVR? Will US deliver amraam? Or source codes? Highly doubt the value of that part. If PAK gets it then they will shop AMARC. Or maybe they will get those build-paid-nondelivered planes…
No point in building 30 + maybe 30 planes.
Arshad already posted on #85 😉
Pakistan to get US arms later this year
By Anwar Iqbal
WASHINGTON, Feb 13: Pakistan will start receiving weapons from the United States under a $1.2 billion arms package by the end of this year, official sources told Dawn. The production of these weapons has already started, they added.
The package, announced in mid November, includes eight P-3C Orion surveillance aircraft, six Phalanx close-in weapon systems and an ammunition complement of 2,000 TOW-2A missiles and 14 TOW-2A Fly-to-Buy missiles.
The P-3 Orions are valued at $970 million, the Phalanx systems at $155 million and the missiles at $82 million. This is the first major sale of US military hardware to Pakistan since Washington lifted sanctions and named Islamabad a major non-NATO ally last year.
Pakistan, however, has not yet succeeded in getting the nod for the big ticket item – the F-16 fighter planes – it has been seeking for long. But there have been recent developments that may boost Pakistan’s efforts to get the aircraft.
The most interesting development in this regard is India’s proclaimed interest in buying the F-16s. The other favourable development for Pakistan is a report from Lockheed Martin, which manufactures F-16s, that it may be forced to close its plant in President Bush’s home state of Texas if the US administration does not agree to sell F-16s to Islamabad. The manufacturers, according to congressional sources, have already passed this information to some members of the US House of Representatives.

http://www.mtholyoke.edu/org/cwp/projects/us_armscontrol/xinhua_pak_concerns.htmhe close defense cooperation between India and Israel has worried Pakistan and brought about quick response from Islamabad.
Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister ZafarullahJamali and other senior officials Wednesday held a meeting to discuss Sharon’s visit to India, Afghanistan and Iraq issues. Musharraf said that no compromise would be made on his country’s defense and all available resources would be allocated for this purpose. The sale of Phalcon systems was a matter of serious concern for Pakistan, he added.
Foreign Minister Khurshid Kasuri Wednesday said that Israel’s sale of weapons to India could disturb the balance of power in South Asia.

booo hooo. anyway, lets not hijack the thread. if you warn them it will be
ignored, if you get close to them the islamist hordes in the street will be very angry. do whatever you want.
boo hoo..where did Pakistan “warn” Israel???, it expressed a legitimate concern unlike India’s which believe 30 F-16s will upset the air balance.. boo hoo….dont let the hindu extremists get close to Israeli weaponry, else they’ll put a fake blame on more muslims and kill them..boo hoo…so stick to the topic…and dont brinng in extremists..boo hoo… 😉
As for Mr. 2 liner..read again..it says ” warned that the sale of weapons by Israel to India could disturb the balance of power in South Asia.”
No Direct threatning/warning to Israel.
