    Tiger_01,

Israel and Turkey have a long standing defense relationship. Neither regards the other as a threat. Israel ostensibly uses the Turkish airspace for training. Whereas the Turks buy Israeli defense hardware.
(And crib about it from time to time like all respectable customers should do:D)

Similarly UAE is a moderate Muslim state, an open and reliable US ally with loads of moolah- so they get Block 60’s.

Pakistan doesnt have the cash nor is it regarded as reliable(leaving the politics of “why” apart) so it wont get the F16’s with AMRAAM’s. Too volatile for US’s comfort I am afraid.

But they might offer early Blocks with Sparrows…and then sell India P3C’s. The wonders of a “conflict economy”! Make money off both sides. 🙂

UAE got its F-16s due to Iran, not anything else. American Self-Interest Dominates what is to be sold where.

One can argue mentioning Kerry here is not exactly “off-topic” 😀

    from f-16.net

“The United States was said to have agreed to an Israeli request to restrict the capability and use of advanced air-to-air missiles to Jordan and ban their sale to the rest of the Arab world.”

Sanctioning then was indeed creating millions of enemies. Now.. At this moment they openly favour co-operation India (to counter China) and offer them not only high tech research and products but at the same time outdated F16’s for Pakistan are put on the table and checked whether they do not start new flame. Just right now the def secr Rocca told Pakistan to be nice to India and offered India newest weapons. If even Musharraf asked for more up to date defence technology and it is clearly not tilting the ballance then what has the US learned from their past mistake? And if both have nuclear armed missiles within a few minutes to their final destiny then what does it matter? Or do they still stab in the back of their favourite allies?

Indians know how much to trust Americans ;). There is a saying, you can live without freinds, but you cannot live without neighbours.

Without blaiming India and Pakistan. The Kashmiri are divided by two nations (India and Pakistan). Instead of solving it they fought wars. Now that seems to have changed. Wise developments. About the past. The comment that Pakistan is sending help to the Kashmiri rebels. Well. The Us is supporting many rebels all over the world. If they cannot understand the history then I hope for them that they focus on US economy rather flaming around on the rest of the world. Past showed that it was the US that was using mass destruction and favourably outside US… I hope that India and Pakistan can solve their dispute without US. I hope that India is aware of the positive gestures from US. It is just to counter China.

    Also

Did not the Indians helped rebels in Bangladesh? The original Suicide-Bombers in Sri Lanka? Taste of their own medicine..feels sour isnt it? You must have thought of that before. 700,000 men there yet cannot hold down few rebels, fact is that Indian Government is forced to negotiate with political leaders of Kashmir because the uprising is done by Kashmiris, not by ppl from across the LOC.

and then when there was a chance the catch them all, the armies were kept at the border, doing absolutely nothing.

Ppl blame Pakistan for Taliban, India and Iran wanted Northern Allicance, whose Human Rights Record happens to be worst than Taliban.

Rafale by design is not a 5th Generation aircraft. Neither are the Gripen, EF-2000, J-10, LCA, F-16 Block 60, F/A-18E/F, or Su-30MKI for that matter. All of them fall into the 4+ category. The only 5th Generation aircraft in existance right now is the F/A-22. PAK-FA, XXJ, and possibly the MCA will also fall into this category.

actually F/A-22 only, rest on paper, heh eve nI have many on paper like Auqaab etc 😉

j/k, just saying F/A-22 only 5th Gen plane in existence, and one can argue F-35 TDs..

You will not find an IAF chief who initially says “MMR sucks” but make a U-turn in a few months without giving details as to what has changed.

If you are referring to the other thread, there was no U-turn anyway, Pak said it if they can meet expectations why not?? PAF was evaluating all the options.

    now back to the topic.
