its good to know SD-10 is superior to R-77 🙂
so the AWACS chapter is still open
I’m not going to respond to the flamebaits that are n- “Give us F-16s, AWACS etc. or we will use nukes.”
oh yea…where???
“TW, if Pakistan has a nuclear deterrent, and its army is aimed solely at defending an Indian attack, then why do you worry about conventional “imbalance” when nukes are good enough to deter India?
Beacause we dont want the world pop. to fall to 4.5 billion..also its difficilut to trust indian Gov. given its record against Pak in last 50 years.
The higher the imbalance, the quicker the useo of Nukes..its not blackmail, its common sense, nukes are not only used for detterance, if detterance fail, one must go to next step…only India can force Pak to use nukes, the bal is in your court, not ours.
.
” They did not have jihadi leaders making speeches about “raining fire” on neighbors while their governments stood silently.”
Freedom of Speech 😉 , i dont need to go back and remind you what bal thakery is upto…extremists to the point they wont even let Pak play cricket in India.
Anyway I’ll accept what Google said and quit the thread..no point anyway..it’s been hijacked by (no need to denigrate people’s ages here.)
That is so yesterday.
Of late think-tanks in the US are
US Think Tanks..yea sure..we’ve seen their ‘experience’
“Nuke Blackmail”
Sure, you gave us the oppurtunity :P, who brought nukes to the region first 😛 , now we have thanks to you :P, so learn to live with it :P, btw India Blackmailed Pak into testing Nukes.
“Pak First-use Policy”
Only if major cities are sacked by Indian Army…that means India can never win a war now.
btw VikasRehman..there are only two places you can find ‘the evidence you’re looking for’ .. his/her brain and/or BR 😉

I dont know why some indians are poised to flame every Pak thread, Go mind your own business…they mass up nukes..they bring in nukes and tell us we’re blackmailing lmao….maybe something new for indians, but Pakistanis dont whine about it every now and then..simply becuase we’re living under a blackmail of war by a nation 8 times our size, we are used to the ‘blackmail’ , so plz you ugys also learn to live with it..dont get paranoid..(as if they arent half of that aleady 😉 ).
—
and btw Indians should thanks the chinese for there freindship with USA..you owe them one 😉
—
J-10 with Western Avionics is the best possible option and if it really has TV, its also good enough for MKI..(with AWACS offcourse 😉 )
LCA = 9 Hardpoints?? Sure?? 2 for Pods??
thats not the case, French do not produce the components anymore for older models of mirage, I thnik al lthe components cannot be produced in Pakistan, the French havent given us 100% of ToT for that, so PAF have to get it from here and there, compared to rest of the fleet, upgraded mirages arent that bad.

PAF purchases Mirage jets from Libya
ISLAMABAD, July 5: Pakistan has purchased a fleet of Mirage fighter jets and spare parts from Libya, says an air force spokesman.
“Libya had a Mirage fleet that was grounded for over a decade. We have purchased that fleet at a very reasonable price,” Air Commodore Sarfraz Khan said on Monday.
“The deal has been finalised, the shipment has started.” Air Commodore Khan did not specify the price or the number of aircraft in the fleet, but press reports suggested the purchase included 50 jets and 150 engines.
All the jets will be scrapped for spare parts to maintain the country’s existing Mirage fleet. “The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is going to reduce the Mirages to spares and use them in maintaining our already existing fleet.” -AFP

Pakistan could buy radar system from Swedish Ericsson: Musharraf – STOCKHOLM, July 06: President Musharraf said today that his country was considering buying a radar system from Swedish Ericsson Microwave Systems, the Swedish newswire TT reported. Pakistan reportedly started negotiating to buy the Erieye airborne radar system from Ericsson Microwave Systems, a subsidiary of Swedish telecom equipment giant Ericsson, back in the mid-1990s. “We like Erieye. It meets our needs,” Musharraf said. He also said that Islamabad might be interested in purchasing Swedish Saab’s JAS Gripen fighter planes. “Pakistan is looking for a high-tech aircraft. Gripen is one of several alternatives,” TT quoted him as saying. (AFP) (Posted @ 09:50 PST)

US pulls the throttle of F-16s to Pak
London | July 02, 2004 4:11:20 PM ISTThe US is encouraging its European NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organisation) allies to effectively consider Pakistan’s requests for purchase of defence equipment, including used F-16 fighter planes, from European countries. The US’ request assumes significance as it comes ahead of Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf’s visit to two European sates.
According to The News, Islamabad had made several formal requests for purchase of defence equipment from different European countries.
Quoting sources, the paper said that after completing all formalities involved in declaring Pakistan a major Non-NATO ally, the US had now officially decided to provide help in strengthening the country’s defence and security for playing a vital role in international war against terror.
The sources further said that the US authorities were working hard to get Congressional approval for refurbishing the fleet of F-16 aircraft provided to Pakistan, including its up-gradation. The policy makers at the Pentagon had already agreed to raise the strength of Pakistan’s F-16s to its original level of 40 and help upgrade them, but it wouldn’t be possible before a Congressional approval, they added.
According to them, the decision on Pakistan’s request to acquire used F-16 fighter planes will be taken shortly. They said Belgium could only sell the used F-16s to Pakistan if a clearance was given by the US administration. The defence source indicated that the US administration was willing to give such a clearance.
Defence experts in the West, however, are still busy in analysing the outcome of the Wana operation launched by the Pakistani security forces, one source said adding that some European countries are also planning to schedule of military-to-military exercises and training activities with Pakistan. Just remember, no flames, and hostile language..make your points in a decent way.
