isnt the price = LCA according to some members?…

2. How many JF-17s/FC-1’s is Pakistan to purchase over the next few years ?, Also what radar will be fitted on these ? and ejection seat ? BVR Missile ?
3.Is Pakistan also to get the J-10 ?, Will the Chinese allow the sale ?
4. The older F-7’s have they all be replaced by the newer models or is this still to be done ?
5. What happend to the Quatari Mirages that the PAF was eyeing ? No Mirages ?
6. Also has the upgrades at Chakala AFB been started/Finished
?
1: No Apaches, few cobras, not specifically made for Army.
2. 150-200, RC-400, Griffo S7 are rumoured to be top runners, no one can exactly say which radar, they’re still evaluating..ejection seat is likely to be chinese i guess…
3. PAf would like to have J-10, Chinese atm are more concerend about filling up numbers for there AF, so not in few years time. PAF would prefer a western plane anyway, or maybe J-10 with western avionics would a lethal combination.
4. I dont think so, one F-7 crashed today. Replacing A-5s is the prioriy.
5. They’re going to India, there is no point PAF purchasese 10 or so M2ks.
6. No idea.
thanks
first of all i’d like to say i understand the jealousy of some posters here for some obvious reasons, so m not bothering replying to them. Forget MMA, read this and stop burning, and learn to earn repsect, koz thats what ppl collect.

86pc Pakistanis like Musharraf: survey
WASHINGTON, March 18: A vast majority of Pakistanis, about 86 per cent, rates President Pervez Musharraf favourably, says a survey by a major American organization. The report by the Washington-based Pew Research Center also says that 60 per cent Pakistanis view President Musharraf “very favourably.” This is “by far the highest rating of any leader in the survey,” says poll director Andrew Kohut. “Pakistanis expressed highly favourable opinions of their president.”
The Pew Research Center is a non-profit and non-governmental organization, which specializes in opinion surveys. Its reports are widely respected in Washington’s academic circles.
The researchers surveyed public opinions in nine countries, asking a randomly selected group of people questions on various subjects, ranging from the war in Iraq to their opinion about their own leaders and about other major US allies in the war on terror.
The survey says that most Europeans had no views about Gen Musharraf and a third or more in each of the nine countries except Pakistan gave no opinion. Views of President Musharraf were more positive than negative in Turkey, and were about evenly divided in Britain, the United States, Russia, and Jordan. Negative opinion of Gen Musharraf was strong in France, Germany and Morocco.
Majorities in every country surveyed except the United States had an unfavourable opinion of President Bush, with negative ratings ranging from 57 per cent in Britain to 85 per cent in both France and Germany.
Outside the United States, the support for Mr Bush is the highest in Britain, 39 per cent. Six-in-ten have an unfavourable view of Mr Bush in Russia, and two-thirds – 67 per cent – feel this way in Turkey.
so to hell with MMA, and its extremist crap…Majority of Pakistanis support Musharraff and his policies…jeeez now i just increased someone’s jealousy even more..(sorry lol)..
F-16s over FC-1 is NO NO, F-16s (from aid package) along with FC-1..why not?? 😉
PLA ignore the flamers, when one stops showing bone, the dog stops barking, you cannot cure it brother…one cannot straighten the tail of the dog, why bother?? it might bite you instead, so ignoring is the best policy.
whats that ‘Boeing’ poster doing there? and any info which plane it has??
sunks costs cant be recovered, unit costs can be brought down by economics of scale, which can be achived through high production.
NECESSITY
Tank T – 59, which has been in use with Pakistan Army, is being upgraded under a phased programme since 1990. After having completed 1st phase of upgrade in1997, the 2nd phase has been launched in 1998 with a total of 50 upgrade features, which have given a quantum technological leap to this old tank.
Owing to their large population, Pakistan Army can not afford to discard / phase out all T-59 tanks in the foreseeable future. It is therefore essential to keep these tanks operationally and technologically compatible with the modern tanks in use with our adversary.
TOP
CONCEPT
It is envisaged to utilize stretch potential of T – 59 tank through upgrade in fire power, mobility and armour protection at a fraction of the cost of a modern main battle tank.
TOP
MODERNIZATION PARAMETERS
As an R & D project three prototypes are being prepared with a view to incorporating the following :
125mm Smooth Bore Gun
700 HP Engine
Compatible Gun Control and Fire Control System
Add-on Armour / Explosive Reactive Armour
TOP
PROGRESS
3 X Prototypes have been prepared with the following features :
Prototype – 1
125 mm smooth Bore Gun with semi auto loading mechanism, major improvements in the turret and Gun Control System
690 HP Power Pack (5TDF) with upgrade / reinforced suspension system
Enhanced armour protection through add-on armour
Prototype – 2
690 HP Engine (V46 – 5M)
Modified Transmission
Improved Suspension
Explosive Reactive Armour and Antimine Bottom Plate
Prototype – 3
730 HP Engine and Improved Transmission
125 mm Smooth Bore Gun
Semi – Automatic Loading System
Image Stabilized Fire Control and Improved Gun Control System
Improved Suspension
Enhanced Armour protection with Explosive Reactive Armour
TOP
TESTS / TRIALS
All the prototypes have undergone successful summer mobility and fire power trials for user / technical evaluation to ascertain viability of upgrade / performance improvement over the basic T – 59 tank.
offcourse not as good as abrams, but look at the price, and if armed with good ammunition, the tank can be dangerous 😉 , remember it’s not upgraded to fight Abrams, but Indian T-72s.
As I said, Filling up of numbers for Saudis, maybe for interior security, you know Protection of Royal Family, internal political stuff…just a thougt.

Can you display that here also? 😉

once we know the avionics, I’m going to post J-10 vs M2k & F-16 , they’re in the same league, so its going to be interesting.
‘This would thus still mean that the F-22 could shoot down the interceptors with BVR since the ground radar cannot have enough accurace for BVR launch’
Not entirly correct, the missiles are likely to have there own Guidance system/seeker, the radar would guide the missile that ok boy you go there..when u’r there…open ur eyes and look around..did you see anything?? goood…kill the bitch for mother russia!
makes sense, it was in the news before, forget the other crap, general reporter non-sense.
‘Amazingly enough, them saudis don’t like our Abrams nomore!’
Its not they dont like it anymore, but can they trust americans during a war to maintain there fleet? (if its against israel?), i think one can get 5 al-zarrars in price of one Abram (nut sure), Good enough firepower. One could say it could be stop-gap measure, or just filling up of numbers.
anyway..another good news (dene wala jub bhi deta, deta chappar parh keh :p :p 😉 😀 😀 )
US to make Pakistan non-NATO ally: ISLAMABAD, March 18: US Secretary of State Colin Powell announced today the United States will designate Pakistan a “major non-NATO ally,” in a move that will boost military cooperation between the two countries. “I advised the foreign minister this morning that we will also be making a notification to our Congress that will designate Pakistan as a major non-NATO ally for the purposes of our future military to military relations,” Powell told a press conference after meeting Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri. The designation means that certain restrictions on arms sales are dropped. Pakistan will join a handful of other countries such as Japan, Thailand, Kuwait, Egypt, Israel and Jordan in receiving preferential treatment from the United States on the military front.
