    How about a Hudson ?

I would also say a Hudson although most of the detail is lost when blown up I think that it looks like it has a gun turret, well IMHO that is

    My feelings exactly.

While sitting in my garden enjoying the sun and drinking a cold can from the fridge my day turned out even better when the sound of a Merlin filled the air as for the next 30-40 mins I had the pleasure of watching a Seafire in the North Weald circuit (doing engine test I should imagine) as it flew round at different speeds each pass.

Although thinking about it it might have been one of the Classic Air Force Venoms, which has been with Weald Aviation for maintenance.

Sorry for the confusion but I meant to say de Havilland Venom and not Vampire,

They must have detoured as they have just flown over Ware heading towards Royston. Could they be on route to DX by chance?

The photo ship went to the East to hold and was joined by the Vampires then all headed back N/West cleared to a “secret frequency” as the pilot of the Twin told North Weald, The Vamps were given a radar slot for the return home after the shoot.

As I said, no reason to spread rumours when there were no problems.

“Rumours”… I stated a fact in my thread and was Asking a question in my title how is that starting Rumours? I posted tongue in cheek somewhat as history and sticky levers came to mind watching the P40 take off but it seems it went over the head of some people but not all I am glad to say.:diablo:

Just heard the 2 Vampires and photo aircraft will be airborne shortly to Thurrock

Its quite possible for a pilot to forget to raise things after take off as well as forgetting to lower them before landing, although the latter tends to be more expensive. Been there, done that. 😮
