Does this help ? There are other losses on those dates, how certain is your witness of the date. These are only RAF losses, as well, what about the USAF ? The above stats are taken from Norman Franks’ ‘Fighter Command Losses vol 3’.
Andy.
Soar far and high Mr Ball.
Hey now that was good reading ! Thanks DoraNineFan 🙂
Hear hear ! 🙂
Park went to Malta and did it again – and Dowding was a spiritualist and spoke to his ‘chicks’.
Great men. Great thread Spitfire Pilot, thanks.
Yes please, more John, thanks,
I’m liking that “Aces High” video! 😀
Yeah baby ! ! ! 😀 😀 :diablo:
A friend bought one of the Dark Blue World Spitfire replica’s for £9,000 when they were let go. It was exhibited in Truro recently in the markings of two Mark 9’s. Honestly, up close they are as good as the real thing.
That’s the best post I’ve ever read Moggy dude. Anecdotes like that aren’t written in any books.
Salute! 🙂
Artie’s book on Amazon.
Andy.
Have you guys read ‘Artie’ Holmes’ autobiography ? Brilliant. He flew Hurri’s with the Russians and did Photo Recce work in Spit’s.
He was never awarded a single decoration. I always wondered why ?? 🙁
A r e y o u t a l k i n g t o m e ? 😀
With apologies to Mr De Niro 🙂
. . .and there’s the rest of his flying career ! Geoff says himself that’s another book altogether. It would be a blessing if he could do it. 🙂
May I ask, how much of a the destroyed aircraft is likely to be present in the newly restored one ? Surely not much . . .
Thankyou all very much ! 🙂
