On eBay :
I’m not the seller, and I don’t know if it’s a common photo or not, but it looks good !
Andy.
Man this thread is better than the final fight scene between Rocky and Clubber Lang 😮 . Bl**dy right too – nothing would get done if you were all a bunch of nambie pambies !
Rock on guys !
Andy and Dilip, you guys should go here :
. . .and let us know how you got on 🙂
The attacking Spitfire’s I believe reacted and responded to Sailor Malan’s cry of ‘Tally Ho!’ and went for it. At the Court of Enquirey Malan denied calling Tally Ho, and was promoted. There is a good account in an autobiography and I can’t for the life of me recall the title or the author, but he was fuming 60 years later and questioned Malan’s integrity.
Andy.
Hey Cliffair – your reference to eBay made me smile, have you had a bad experience?

Thanks Fouga23 – just had a look at that site, very nice. Sorry! 😀
Andy.
Nice one – haven’t seen any of those before, thanks! 😀
I reckon it’s taxying and the undercarriage has been removed with Photoshop or the like.
Dilip mate you have yet to experience the frustration of having a thread hijacked ! 😮
Welcome to the internet . . . 😀
On reading a Free signed copy of Truthspeaker’s latest Book 🙂 (Thanks Dilip, cracking read), yes he was (plus his ASI was U/S and had been from Take Off 😮 , never knew that). As for the computer software, may work, but as one old Spit IX pilot I known always says ‘no two aircraft are the same’, hence any information you will get will be most likey worthless 😉 . All I have to do now is do a profile of the aircraft in question at A2 size, my old PII PC is going to be pushed 😮
Okay – thanks ! 🙂
Geoff Painting was lost to flak whilst attacking shipping below mast level. He went straight in. What a great kid. Only 7 years older than my eldest boy – now that makes you sit quietly and think, I can tell you.

Is there anyone who could use computer software to simulate a Mk V Spitfire losing it’s tail and the likely outcome to the airframe in the air?
Did Bader at any stage confirm he was flying inland when he got clobbered?
