Thanks SJJ, I emailed them, but they only sell the 3 Sqdn. crest with white background, I’m after a black background one (new or used). It sounds like ashamim has exactly what I am looking for,

Crests from 60’s/70’s were mainly on white felt. The one I have is of that type.

I believe I have late 60’s early 70’s version of the 3 Sqn crest patch in my trade box. Condition not that great. If anyone’s interested, let me know

I want that Karakoram-8 patch !

Here is a better scan of the patch. Looking over some of the other pictures there are several other patches I’m looking out for, for my own collection.

Driving home from Swindon at approx 16:15 today Thursday 27 July, I was driving towards Wootton Basset – and saw what I thought was a Mil Mi-26 Halo on approach to RAF Lyneham 😮

Ken, my offices are under the flightpath into the Lyneham. Wednesday & Thursday afternoon there was a Merlin in the circuit which made several passes. One stage a Puma [Thursday] was also observed transiting.
