Thanks Andy
The only problem is where running out of room to put things and we have lots of restoration projects and not enough people to work on them, but we’ll get round to them all one day.
Glad you enjoyed your visit’s

Hi Glen
The lightnings were put on the south african register before they left for cape town and the CAA still wouldnt let them fly in the uk even just for a ferry flight so i cant see them letting them fly here now even if they did bring one back.
And we all know that the bucc is going to fly again soon so it’s know big secret.

Hi Davski
You could be right im not sure myself but someone down at aeroventure will know. Its very probable as the airfeild dated back to world war one.

Never say Never I live in hope that one day English Electrics “Frightning” will grace the skys of the uk once again. It seams a long time since that very rainny day in 1988 when i last saw one in the air:(

Hi Guys
Andrewman
The F.6 is owened by a consortium of museum members and as for plans im not sure what they have in mind at the moment.
Davski
The museum site is now the only remaining part of what was RAF Doncaster.

Hi Andrewman
it’s the F.6

Hi Firebird
Yep all the large tank lightnings including the T.55 and the F.53 cant drop the tanks.
Scott C
Yep Bruce is right
It is the rear end of lancaster KB979
Scott C
Hi All
All marks of lightning except the F.2A and F.6 can drop the belly tank. And the T.5 needs to use reheat on take off as it weighs more the the F.3 that can take of in full dry power.
Scott C
Hi Steve
