Andrewman 974 will never fly again
She is the original S.2 Bucc but half of her is S.1 stuff Including the brakes which are almost dead now. No spares=no flying

Hi aj
if you look at left side of pic you can see behind the white glider trailer the rear of 706 with a blue cover over it.
Scott C
her is a better one of 974 for andrewman just as she’s starting up for an engine run

Hi Gateguard
929 is nice but a shame they stuck her up a pole

Hi Mike
Welcome to the forum. Thanks for visiting aeroventure I own Lightning F.3 XP706 there and its nice to see that people are coming to visit us anyone who hasnt been yet come and pay us a visit. As for the DC-3 work shouldbe starting on here soon watch this space.
Scott C
Well it’s all over
Sat home this afternoon watched the last flights on sky news and thought to myself never to be seen again. BUT the press are still talking about BA keeping one flying, but what about airbus is this just the BA press machine working overtime or are they really trying to save one. As for concordes going overseas im totally against it as the british tax payers paid for the aircraft they should be kept in the UK for those people who paid for it and could’nt afored to fly in it to visit it in all it’s glory on the ground.

Hi Peter
When 706 left binbrook it was stripped out in the cockpit but now im only missing a couple of items to complete the cockpit one of which is the stick.

Hi British Canuck
It’s unlikley that all the aircraft at doncaster will go undercover there is limited space. There are plans for Y.H.P.G to put up a blister hanger on site to house all the helicopters, which should free up space in the hangar but the DC-3 that the museum has is planed to go inside.

Hi British Canuck
706 first flew october 63 and was delivered to 74 sqd in 64 flew with 74,23,29,5,11 Sqd and with the LTF last flew with the LTF in 1985. I am repainting her in 5 Sqd markings which was here last front line Sqd.

Hi Trumper
My lightning is F.3 XP706 at aeroventure in doncaster. It had it’s wings and tail cut off when removed from binbrook. It was sold to 2 guys who moved it to strubby airfeild in lincolshire(one of the guys was stuart scott who has written a very exelent book on the lightning). It was then sold to a guy who moved it to the bomber county museum at hemswell, and then i bought it in june 2002. I have a new set of wings and a new fin to fit and it is been rebuilt to as near as operational condition as we can.

Hi Steve
Yeah the wiring is proving to be time consuming but if it’s all gonna work again once the aircraft is back in one piece it’s gotta be done.
Scott C
Hi all
I think the duxford and hendon ones for static, and all the ground runners and flyers. And mine of course:D
Firebird there is NO BDR on my lightning, there is a few small patches on the fin i have and once it has had the work done on it you’ll hardley know

It would be nice to see a “shack” in the air again.
