Hi all
Markp451- thanks for that i wasnt sure what pipes went to S.A. i just know there was a few. Just checked the pic and yes you can see ya legs.:D
Andrewman- i got my info from a good source so watch this space as i said i do hope its just a rumor.
Back to the picture’s heres a couple more 1st one is me getting out of XS904 after a taxi run (i wish) so you can put a face to the name.
Hi all
Markp451- are you sure about the reheat pipe problem im sure that when all the spares from BAe went to S.A. there was quite a number of reheat pipes. Ive also heard on the grape vine that Mr Beachy Head has got boared with his little flying operation and is thinking about winding it up. I do hope this is just a rumor.
Thanks for the pic i guess this would be from the 56 Sqd Birthday a few years ago.

The XR713 is 111 Sqd mascot it is usually kept in the hangar dosnt have any engines or jet pipes and is offically a BDR airframe.

Hi all
Ken- thanks for the pics nice to see the northern Lightnings
John- your a lucky guy wish i could of witnesed a QRA Scramble first hand ( at least i get to work on lightnings).
British Canuck- XS903 is complete except engines and jet pipes she flew into elvington where the RAF came and removed her engines and pipes. The owner then repainted her without putting any markings on except the 11 Sqd Crest and tail letters. He then sealed up the aircraft and wouldnt let anybody touch it. It is now full of mosture and starting to get corroision in it he did let the museum open the cockpit for a bit last year.

The T.5 at Cranfield is in 226 OCU markings on one side and 111 Sqd on the other. I think it would look better all in one colour.
Garath
Thanks for the pic they are 3 kuwait F.53 and looks like some one’s knicked the main wheels off the one on the right.

i have looked at the jet pipes in XN728 and there a bit bent at the ends but could be useful but nobody is quite sure who owns that aircraft. and if we did we would try and get the jet pipes.

andrewman/peter
The aim is to get as much of the aircraft in working order as parts allow. i did want to get her into taxing condition but a lack of spare jet pipes means that i dont think that will happen.
Everyone lets see ya lightning pics.
im off to go work on the old girl now and its not raining:cool:

the rest of it would be a new pair of wings sat in there crates and a new fin.

to change the wings on a Lightning the front fuselarge has to be romved which involves disconecting all the hydrulics/electrics (and marking it all up so you can get it all back together and working again) ect so its takes a while but im making slow but steady progress.

Here is another one of 706
Hi all
good so far buts lets see more.
Mark12-lucky that spit isnt sucked down the Lightnings intake:D
Ant-The real XR753 is looked after by 11 Sqd at Leeming
Markp451-Great pics
There’s plenty more lightnings lurking out there.
Scott C
If Parkhouse have given up on the idea of puting XM172 on the said rounderbout i do hope that they are going to do something with her. Ant i dont see what Murry’s T.5 would have to do with it because that has gone on loan to FAST and has nothing to do with Parkhouse Aviation

Hi again
Forgot a bit the nose section is F.1 XM144
