Where did Russian declared they r committed to sell and service RD93 for JF-17??? And the 300 AL31 engines for PLAAF r for local use only and export is unlikely. As for J-10 export to PAF,it will takes at least 1-2yrs before the first plane reaches PAF. By then,WS-10A will be already fitted on the new J-10 batch and tested already since WS-10A is already underway testing for J-11 now. Sounds logical, isn’t it??

Whether Russia agreed to sell RD-93s or not does not matter, PAF is still quite confident about receiving JF-17; Air Chief Kaleem Saadat (rtd) said in frequent interviews that engines are not a problem. And it appears the Chinese WS-13(?) is not ready for use by 2008-2009 – so where else will Pakistan get their engines? Would it be worth it for Russia? There are a couple other engines out there for JF-17 to use – although it may require substantial redesigning.

The PAF was always commited to the SD-10 as part of the FC-1 package. The R-Darter has beeen available for years but I am not convinced that the PAF has it.

Pakistan was not committed to SD-10 like it was to JF-17 – it was interested in acquiring the missile, but was not involved in the project (as per official sources). Regarding the R-Darter, I find it really interesting that Flight International would say that PAF simulated it during High Mark 2005.
